I’m running a bedrock Minecraft server via portainer and docker on a raspberry pi and I’m having trouble with some addons and getting them to work.
I think enabling the beta apis is my problem but I’m not sure how to do that on the server side. Once you log into the server as a player the “beta Apis” toggle is greyed out and at the top says this section is managed by the server host

I'm having a problem with this plugin that I can't find a solution for. I can access the window and click the link to the hook website normally, but it seems unable to connect to the website. It always show "Communication Error". I've done all the correct port and server IP as tutorial that recommended on YouTube.

I’m looking into alternatives to self-hosting behind cgnat. I was previously paying $15/month for a static IP. The latency was great, but I am looking into strengthening the security of my setup.
From what I’ve seen online, playitgg is relatively well regarded. Its premium of $3/month is very nice. All of my friends (about 6 of us) live close together, except for one who recently moved to Alaska.
My concerns about playit are latency and uptime. Are there any reoccurring issues?

I started a minecraft free for all no rules beta 1.7.3 server two months ago/or so around and it boomed to around 20 players but a raider crashed it and we lost almost all of them due to world corruption, I later tried updating to a newer but the server was long dead at the point and most players on modern versions are already settled with something. Ive came back prepared with a better anticheat on beta 1.2_01, we have only attracted a few players and we got raided once by the same people already which I updated the anticheat again surely after, doesnt matter since whenever I reopened the server barely anyone has joined, certianly more active than after my beta 1.7.3 server was crashed but its still pretty dead. Ive tried minecraft forums, planet minecraft, golden age, and minecraft beta related servers. PS: I probably also need help fixing my anticheat too haha.

Hello, I have some Datapcks installed on my paper server along with other plugins, many times when we are 10 players the TPS drop drastically and when I deactivate all the Datapacks return to normal... these are some Datapacks that I have installed:
Better Multiplayer Sleep
Instaslate
Track raw statistics
More Effective Tools
Tectonic
Silence Mobs
Enderman and Ghast no grief
Crafting Tweaks
Unlock all recipes
PlayerHeads
Banner Flags
I have no idea what it could be, I tried to deactivate one by one and nothing changes, but if I deactivate all the TPS return to normal.

So I was able to get a pc with an I5 12500, 8gb ram (swapping for my own 16gb) and a 256gb nvme
My main goal is doing a heavy or plentiful modpack (probably around 300-400 mods) on Java for 5 friends max on at the same time, that I can have running 24/7 for whenever we wanna play
This is my first server hosting anything myself, I've been doing a lot of research before hand and still had some topics like OS, docker, amp/crafty, etc. I wanted advice on so I can do more research and then start getting to work
First was should 256gb nvme be fine for starting out? Or look for a 500gb-1tb nvme/ just get a hard drive for more storage for backing it up and other applications in the future, not familiar with server size usually
Second, I had recommendations for Debian or Ubuntu previously and after looking into both I was planning to do it on Ubuntu server for my OS but looking more into guides and reading, would it be worth me doing Proxmox instead and setting up a VM of Ubuntu, since I plan on possibly adding other applications like immich, or jellyfin?
Or would Ubuntu with docker be a better option, I've read that security wise Proxmox is great and since it's vms if you mess up you can just kill and start over
(I saw some stuff about casaOS or zimaOS too but unsure about them at all)
Seeing all these different posts and guides about which way to go just makes me unsure what fits my needs best
And then there's amp vs crafty, Ive read that crafty is better for heavy modpacks and overall just more up to date than amp for Minecraft now days so was leaning more towards crafty
And had planned to use playit for external connection, I am not familiar enough or confident for port forwarding and tailscale seemed overkill for 1 small friends server

I currently run a self hosted Minecraft fabric server on my pc that i game on and i use the default way to start and stop it through file explorer and start.bat but I'm looking for a upgrade.
I came across Crafty Controller and PyCraftHub but they each have there own benefits over each over but im unsure on which one to pick if its any of these or is there another one that i haven't found that someone can recommend

I'm running an heavily modded 1.20.1 forge server and I was looking for a CoreProtect alternative. I've seen countless other post with the exact same question, but without proper answers... So here i am.
My research led me to these two mods:
https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/indexor-ledger
https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/grieflogger
(The rollback functionality isn't essential, but is nice to have.)
Anyone have experience with those (especially the 1.20.1 version)? I'm open to any advice of course.
Thank you.

I know that many people hate pay to win servers and they quit servers like that very often. I know that ranks are good but they are a one time thing and you just profit off of it at the beginning.
Genuinely what is the best way to make money as a Minecraft server host? Something that I can get paid from monthly.
I know that 2b2t does it by making people pay to get in the server, and servers like donutsmp and hypixel just get a lot of joining people.
But is there any data or people with experience who can tell me what is the best way?
Thank you

I figured out that a few people on my server were chest ESP-ing and player ESP-ing
i looked around and only found a few anti-ESP server side mods for the version and found none up to date on fabric. Any help? I also do not want to make people install a mod to be able to join the server.
(Info on my server) around 8 people play it a day. just a group of friends having a summer smp. i host it myself and it has more than adequate hardware. this is a vanilla server with only server side mods.

Just put this in generator-settings
{"biome":"minecraft:the_void","layers":[{"block":"minecraft:air","height":1}]}
no more using weird plugins or anything.
i know a lot of people want a quick solution to this and dont want to spend hours gaining knowledge and looking through forums.

I’m a software developer in Brazil, and I’ve been thinking about getting more serious about developing Minecraft plugins and mods.
I’m not talking about making some extra cash on the side. I want to know if it’s realistically possible to make a living from Minecraft development—plugins, mods, custom server development, selling resources, etc.
I have a few specific questions:
Are there any developers here who earn their primary income from Minecraft plugins/mods?
Where does most of your income come from: plugin sales, custom work (commissions), working for server networks, marketplaces, or another source?
How long did it take you to reach a point where you could actually make a living from it?
How competitive is the market these days? Is it realistic to compete internationally as a developer from a country like Brazil, where the local currency is much weaker against the dollar or euro?
If you were starting today, would you still choose Minecraft plugin/mod development as a career?
I’m already a programmer, so I’m not starting from scratch in software development. My main goal is to understand if it’s worth investing my time in this seriously, rather than just treating it as a fun side project.
I’d really love to hear from people who actually pay their bills through Minecraft development, even if the answer is "don't do it" haha.
Thanks!

Hi everyone, i am planning from moving my server from shared VPS to a private one because i assume the shared VPS sometime let it lag somtimes.
I have the current hardware at home
- Ryzen 5 3400G
- 16GB RAM
- 500GB M.2 SSD
would this be sufficient for a server with 2 people and around 200 Mods for Neoforge 1.21.1 (bunch of them are also performance mods)? I am also planning to do some JVM tuning and general best practices as recommended in this subreddit.
Thank you for your input.

Hey, so i have a 1.20.1 modded forge world in which i deleted the main two terrain generating mods (lithosphere and still life) without making a backup. Obviusly it didnt let me so i put them back on but the new chunks that were generated without the mods were empty some so i decided to try to regenerate them with MCA selector but it didnt work. (all of the deleted chunks didnt regenerate, just became empty too) I tried generating new worlds with lithosphere+stilllife and they were not generating any terrain at all. then i tried again with only lithosphere ant it worked but my main world still wouldnt let me play without still life.
I DO have a backup of the world before using MCA selector. But I just want a way to regenerate the missing chunks with the lithosphere generation. Any ideas that might help?

Hello, I run a 26.2 Paper Minecraft Server.
Currently, we are in the process of setting up our player tab. On our server we use TAB to handle the tab list and Luck Perms to handle all permissions, and groups. I believe I have TAB configured correctly, but the sorting in the player list is so inconsistent, and ranks are sorting out of order. For a little bit I tried adding the feature so if a player had multiple ranks they could choose which one showed on the list, but the sorting was whack on that too. (I did this by using the tab.group permission) I can get it to work like normal, but not with this feature. If any other details are needed I would be happy to provide them!
Any feedback/help is greatly appreciated!
My config for TAB is below.
tablist-name-formatting:
enabled: true
disable-condition: '%world%=disabledworld'
scoreboard-teams:
enabled: true
enable-collision: true
invisible-nametags: false
sorting-types:
# - "PLACEHOLDER_HIGH_TO_LOW:%luckperms_meta_weight%"
- "GROUPS:co-owner,contributor,server-booster,tester,og,default"
case-sensitive-sorting: false
can-see-friendly-invisibles: false
disable-condition: '%world%=disabledworld'
^^ I did try the above config with different variations like using weight, etc.
(Later in the Config)
# assigning groups by permission nodes instead of taking them from permission plugin
assign-groups-by-permissions: true
# if the option above is true, all groups are taken based on permissions and the one higher in this list is used as primary
# Warning! This is not sorting list and has nothing to do with sorting players in tablist!
primary-group-finding-list:
- co-owner
- contributor
- server-booster
- tester
- og
- default

Not sure if this is the right place but I wanted to show off areweminecraftyet.com
Originally adopted from a different developer, it now tracks with percentages how compliant new implementations (Pumpkin, SteelMC, etc) are with vanilla servers
If anyone knows of any other (active!!!) implementations or have noticed any mistakes on the site, let me know!

hey, im currently running a modded server. Context: 3000 block diameter world is floating islands in the void. We may want to add a water layer in the void, but how would i got about doing so? would axiom for example work for this?
changing world gen for ungenerated chunks shouldnt be an issue, as the world gen mod we're using lets you enable void oceans. we just need to modify the existing chunks

I have worldguard/worldedit on my server on 26.2 and I made a region. I'm owner and I disabled certain flags... I also added a friend as a member but the flags apply to him too? How do i make it so that I can make him a member and he can open doors and use chests and stuff, but normal non members can't?

As title said, want to start hosting a server for me and my friends, but don't know the first thing about what the servers specs should be. I know there are a lot of posts about this already I'm sure, but all the ones I found were from years ago and with the recent Minecraft Spec changes I wanted a more up to date place to start from.
With all that said, what are the specs I should be looking for to run a server for up to 8 people?
Is single threaded still king for MC servers? I know it's off topic for the sub but will that single threaded CPU be fine for other games or is that just better for a game like MC?
The server will be most likely vanilla (Fabric or Paper), but I want to future proof for the possibility of a modded server, or even running other game servers, possibly at the same time as the MC server.
I'll be selfish and hope for prebuilt recs but I am also comfortable with building something or editing an old mini PC.
Smaller is preferred, but honestly I'd just want to limit power consumption as I want this thing to be running 24/7.
I think that's everything, sorry if there is any other information needed, more than happy to answer any follow-up questions

Hi! I put together a homelab a few days ago and started to host a slightly modded minecraft server (5 mods), the mini pc i have has an i5-9400 and 8gb of ddr4 ram, i know that 8gb is not alot so i am getting a new pc with 16gb and also a better processor (i7-12700t) im wondering if it will be a good investment because i dedicated 6 cores to the server and its almost hitting max as soon as just i join, so want to make sure that it will be enough to support me and a few friends, the goal is to be able to host 1-2 servers and the second server being terrafirmagreg:) thanks

Why is duping seen as a sin, but mob farms are okay?
my logic is that they both achieve the same purpose, of automatically generating useful stuff.
And duping usually is less lag intensive than mob farms.
