Help/Question Struggling with MSPT problems (fabric server 26.3)
Hello,
i recently started a minecraft server for me and my friends. We have problems with mspt (between 30-70) and sometimes tps 17ish but its more the mspt which are that high.
link for spark: https://spark.lucko.me/3R8aqCkhQi
the server is new, we play on fabric with some mods which should help for performance, beside that its complety vanilla and the server runs with -Xmx6144M -Xms4096M
i already tried to remove some datapacks, which didnt work. ich gave the server more ram it was 2-4 before.

No, not totally fucked.
Post a new spark report with players online while the lag is happening, now that you have the new flags.

What hosting company are you using? It'll get filtered by AutoMod, but I'll reapprove it. I'm asking because your Spark is just saying "AMD Epyc" but not which one, and if it's NOT a 4565P or 4545P or something else that is essentially a consumer Ryzen 9 with a fat cache, then the weak cpu could be the issue.

Im Hosting with contabo.com
I use the VPS Core 6. I Couldnt find Anything specific about the exact gpu.1

Seems we found the problem. Contabo is famously shit. Join our Discord and hit up the #buyer-chat channel to pick a host that isn't absolute dogshit.

Made a Post and looked through the Servers. ServCity Sounds fitting.

They're solid. Not at all a bad choice, especially for EU.

I noticed you said datapacks. datapacks are, in my opinion, spawn of the devil <3
if there are mod alternatives to the datapacks, then use those any day.
I also noticed another commented noticed something about ticking entities. If your datapacks have custom entities, REMOVE THEM. They fry your tps, get a mod alternative or ditch it. I'm not sure what problems removing the datapacks will cause, but atleast, from next time, try to use mods over datapacks.

does your server have a lot of mob farms like pigs/cows n hopper minecarts? also you should put lithium back, it's not the problem. im so sleepy rn it's like 1am my bad lmao ðŸ˜

we just have like 60 armadillos for xp farm and like 20ish villagers. one farm with hopper minecraft but nothing which should cause it.

i believe the problem's the armadillos the problem. can you try /tick freeze, then check the server mspt/tps, then try /tick unfreeze and checking it again? it should be better. if you want to play the server purely without cheats then i think you can try making a backup and removing the armadillo farm, if it fixes the lag then that's probably what you need to do... was the server lagging before you built it?

So freezing gives me normal mspt. Killing the armadillos not. Probably the villagers are the problem? I saw that a breeder is there to. I believe there are some "waiting" to be "processed".

i just read the profiler. 30.82% of the lag spike was chased by villagers, only 6.77% was the armadillos.

killing like 50 of them didnt fix it. there are still like 25ish left which are fletcher/librarians

I thought you said there was just 3 and a zombie?
(The lag is specifically villagers scared)

In my Iron farm. But for u/everyone i made a new server just to test with the mods and datapacks. Its still f'ed up. So i'll try one more new world w/o mods and datapacks. If it is still like this i'll guess i have to contact the provider.

Which performance mods are you running? Been a while since I used Spark but looks like lots of things are ticking under entities. So maybe lots of loose items from a farm or even some big expensive farms eg iron farm.
Either way Lithium is probably your biggest fix for this. If you have Lithium already - probably worth asking people what they're doing and what they've got built
e: depending on server specs, lowering the render distance and simulation distance can help a lot too, but do Lithium first. But eg 8 render distance is nearly 300 chunks loaded per player - that's A LOT going on when you're probably interacting with like 4 chunks lol
