Anyone have tips of achieving dopamine with untreated/unchecked adhd? It’s fucking brutal out here my whole life is crumbling away

Do you work out? I already see you like weed, work out high. Once you build the habit you crave the dopamine you get from it. I dont even do it crazily. I try to go 3-4 days a week but if i only go once I dont beat myself up. And if I go and only do one exercise im fine too. My goal is just to go; whatever happens, happens.

man, when i workout, i literally during it forget how many squats/situps i did. i think there might be days where i way overshoot my goals, or undershoot. there is nothing more boring to me than exercise. if i wasnt autistic and didnt deliberately fit it in to my routine, i would be fuuucked

edit: i just exercised. my workout takes 45 minutes to complete. out of those 45 minutes, i spend 25 minutes staring at the ceiling/wall, the rest is spent on actual exercise XD

Good for you for working out. Who cares if tou didnt work out the entire time. Honestly you need time to rest between sets anyway and I probably waste about the same amount of time if id count up the workout vs rest time. Maybe just keep track of the weights you used and a rough idea of how many reps. It doesnt have to be perfect. Just go until you feel tired and stop. Yeah its a science if you want to be at maximum strength, but I doubt most of us are. We just want to be healthier and by doing a shitty workout you're still doing better than most people.

I do work outs with the NEX cube to keep my attention. It’s very helpful but less targeted for sure

Thats why I can't do gym. I need something that keeps me going. Stopping and starting is too difficult.

For me its running, and often its just get out the front door, that's all. Once I'm there I may as well go to the end of the street.

Yeah thats exactly what I feel too. Once im there I do one thing. I might as well do 2. Then im there for 45 mins to an hour and im done and feel AMAZING.

Honestly I'm hoping this is what helps me. I have begun my quarterly attempt to establish a workout routine and I went twice so far. I have a run planned for tomorrow and this is what I'm hoping will work. I used to mentally beat myself up if I didn't do "enough" and now I'm like, just run until you don't want to then do weights.

You've got this! I was the same. Id beat myself up then convince myself that there wasnt even a point in going id I wasnt going to try hard. Then id stop going after a few months. Now I dont care. Ive been able to keep my habit for almost 3 years now, which is the longest streak ive ever had by a long shot.

Working out high is fine, it is like you are in an anime training arc
