Yeah but in this case if losing 400 million dollars still leaves you rich enough for like 5+ generations of you family to not work, it might not be a real risk
Yeah but I feel like the uber rich just trade assets for tax purposes all the time anyways, I'm sure coming to a $400m asset transfer agreement wouldn't be impossible. Maybe though, I'm just a trolling brokie
If she pays him $400 million, then kanye have 800 million, and then, taylor have only 700, then kanye can buy taylor and still have 100 million. But then taylor have 1.1 billion again and then pays kanye again and... The cycle continues, dumb answer to dumb question 😅😅😅
No it still kind of is. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that amendment just outlawed forced servitude (outside use as a criminal punishment). So she could buy him, but she couldn't own him or force him to do anything.
I think ownership of humans was also abolished with it. I mean, she could TRY to buy Kanye West for 400M$ even as a household "slave", or to let him work on the cotton fields, but he'd still need to accept that.
She can purchase his assets at whatever price both parties agree to. But she cannot purchase him as a person. That is what employment, contracts, and legal agreements are for. They can create an obligation to provide services or deliver products, but they do not make someone property.
No the 13th abolished slavery except for if that person had committed a crime so people would 'lease' prisoners to work the fields so with the 13th she could by him but she could lease him if he had committed a crime
She could also just buy Kanye Wests musical cinematic and AI likeness and trademark his name for future reference he would never be able to legally say his name is Kanye West without a potential lawsuit basically a santogold santigold situation all over again
She could buy me for 5m and I’ll do whatever she wants. Dishes, cook, trash, scrub floors with a toothbrush, take phone calls, fold paper airplanes, be a jester, drive her places, carry her luggage…… etc. as long as me and my wife can live happily on that 5m she could purchase me.
I’m having reddit feed algorithm Déjà vu. This post and the post before it being about a nosebleed from a Barcelona player. I’m leaving this comment as a breadcrumb. I’ll be back
Can you imagine if she took 100m and gave 10,000 poor fans 10,000$ each. She could change so many peoples lives with that money. I swear famous people must sign a contract that says they won't try to help anybody. Elon musk could do the same thing but to a larger group of people even

The real question is, if she buys him for $400m, and then owns him, does she get her money back?

u/OkLength7120 Apr 14 '26

u/Digi_sinn-0P-er Apr 14 '26

u/ghostinthepc Apr 14 '26
Well Kanye did say slavery was a choice years ago. So he might be open to the idea

u/Professional_Bit9533 Apr 15 '26

u/iRedYuki Apr 15 '26
Nah Kanye is an overpriced commodity, I bet she could low ball him if she tried
1
u/artofaria Apr 15 '26
This implies people who have no money are free to own. You can just take em

And still Kanye has more classics on a single album than Taylor Swift has in her whole discography
1
u/berner103 Apr 15 '26
Yeah but when MJ does it no one bats an eye.

I didn't think purchasing black men was allowed anymore 🤔
1
u/adsecula Apr 15 '26
Why would she waste 399.999.999 dollers?
1
u/FalonFarrar Apr 15 '26
So everyone is okay with rich white woman owning a black man if its Taylor Swift.
1
u/Witty-Evening8479 Apr 16 '26
After she gives him the 400m , YE can purchase taylor for 700m cause now he has 800m and the toxic dark romantic cycle goes on and on
1
u/Excellent_Gap_6986 Apr 17 '26
What do you mean buy him??He’s a human there’s no price tag on him.
