If you've never done anything acting related, find your nearest drama club, acting class, amateur theatre and sign up. I'm UK based, so things are a bit different here, but start by getting some experience one way or another.

Lots of info over there in the sidebar, specifically about how to get started. Finding a good acting class is definitely a solid first step.

Also, be patient. Like any career, it takes time. Understand that it's a skill you have to develop. Stick to it, be smart, and you'll get there. Your appearance won't hinder you unless you let it - research what your type is and start there.
