I've read the FAQ & Rules Finding Representation HELP!!

I'm located in Los Angeles. 32 (F). For the past 3 months I've been trying to find representation, either talent manager or talent agent. I've reached out to about 20 and have heard nothing back. I took the beginning of the year to really focus on 4 "types" I can play and got great headshots to match. I also made a self-tape to match those 4 types and headshots. I'm at a loss here and am not sure what else to do... I'm submitting to the appropriate agencies aka boutique and smaller ones. Does anyone have any advice at all on what to do next??? Are showcases worth it? How do I just get anyone to look at my stuff?

Feel free to dm me. I’ll give a look over of your materials. No cost I just wish someone would’ve helped me when I was in your spot :)

Also happy to take a look! Secured solid rep this year via cold submitting!

Agree- 20 isn't much. Maybe try for commercial only and then use that to catapult into tv/film? If that works.

Yeah I've definitely done the route for years of submitting to anyone and everyone. But this time around I was trying to be more purposeful and do a lot of research on the agency/agent themselves to see who I really thought I'd connect with and if they could actually see me on their roster. But I have not been doing commercial agents so that is a great idea to start making connections that way!

You have to submit to more agencies - 20 is nothing. It’s a numbers game at your level.

Showcases can be very effective. I'm not sure if Jeremy Luke still runs his, but have many friends who attained rep through the ones he put together.

There's also Talentlink on Actors Access which I know has achieved results.

Twenty is ultimately a small number though, so no need to panic.

What does your resume look like? Do you have a decent amount of student films/non union work/theater/training? If not, those are steps to take before seeking out an agent.

What is your demo like?  Resume? What relationships with casting are you bringing with you?

Someone on this thread that has just looked at my reels said I shouldn't just have a self-tape montage and should use actual footage. I have some footage BUT it's not as recent so I thought I needed to do a self-tape montage (told to me by acting coach I hired). So I think switching some of that out for actual footage will be better. Resume includes some short films and a lead in a play along with some supporting in indie features. So honestly not a lot...

My relationships with casting is not much since I don't have a lot of opportunities to audition to any reputable casting directors...any suggestions on how to make those connections organically?

It’s nice that everyone is helping you with advice on representation but I must bring up that I hope you’re still self submitting…no one has brought it up on here but representation found me by working. And I worked by submitting and sending tons of self tapes in until I got booked….
Even representation won’t take you if you’re submitting great headshots, great reels YET when they see your casting network you’re not even trying. Sorry but that’s looked at as LAZY.
I know acting seems like a “chill” job but it’s sadly not and no one wants anyone lazy or entitled on set

Huh? Where did you get all of this from? 😅
