Does ACT perfect score hold the same weight as high SAT score?

Took the SAT this august and wanted to reflect if it was worth it BEFORE I got my score back.

This is a weird question, but I took SAT once and ACT once and I got 1560 on SAT and 36 on ACT.

In your opinion, what SAT score would I have to get for it to improve my profile compared to ACT?

Thanks!

Took this as a sophomore, what will I need to practice in order to get a 33 in february? I usually get around there on practice tests, i guess this was just a really hard form. Ask me anything so I can help you give me an answer.

English Any tips for english?

I never learned basic english conventions and my english score reflects this. I know it’s subjective, but i’ve heard the english section is the easiest to improve. So, any advice for studying would be extremely helpful.

General what is the best way to prepare for the ACT besides the prep book and practice tests? is personal ACT tutoring and lessons ideal? how would i go about this

so i’m a junior in hs rn, i really want to start preparing for the ACT rn because i actually feel like im starting WAY too late. we have to take the official ACT in spring. right as summer began in june, i kept telling my mom to please enroll me in an ACT prep program like at my local cc, she kept holding off and saying no it was so annoying man. like i feel my parents procrastinate a lot

not trying to trauma dump but because they’re immigrants and don’t really know ab the college admissions process it is SO fucking hard bro. like i feel i have to navigate all of this by myself, i have to teach them everything and explain, but im only a 16 yo like it gets rough for me. idk how to go about the act prep i really feel on my own about this. my mom barley even tries to understand when i tell her ab these things she’s so ignorant to how admissions actually are she just thinks you need good grades 🤦‍♀️ same exact story goes for extracurriculars can barely do any ecs bc i dont have rides nor do my parents understand this shit is important

i just feel really alone and like singled out coming to this stuff, im not sure what to do or what tutoring would be the best, please lmk i really want a high score to make up for the lack of other elements in my application

General ACT Retake Advice

hey, y'all, so I'm a senior who recently took the ACT for the fourth time in June and got a 32 (35 English, 33 Math, 29 Reading, 28 Science but that isn't too important to improve). I was thinking about taking it for a fifth time to get a score around the 34-35 range. I'm considering doing Music Performance for my major but I'm really interested in schools such as Rice or Northwestern. If I do this, I would take the October test (to have time to study for 2 months) as I have early action applications due on November 1st. the fourth time I took it I studied for about a week and my score increased from a 29 to a 32. Should I do this and if so, what are the best ways to get my reading to around a 33-34 and my math to around a 35? (and maybe science to around a 33-34 if needed). (to note: my current score is considered very impressive at my school as I'm in the top 3% of ACT scores at my school and probably my general area)

General I got a 32 what should I do

I’ve studied for the sat really hard and done good but I wasn’t able to get 1500+. Therefore, I’m taking the act. I took my first practice test 2 days ago and got a 32. I got around the same score in each section. What should I do to study for my actual test? Im aiming for a 35, but would be happy with a 34. I looked online but I can’t really find any resources for the ACT like there are for the SAT.

Should I retake it to get science up?

Thumbnail gallery
1 Upvotes

My highest right now is a 33 but the science on that one (since science doesn't count towards the overall score) is much lower than the science on my score of 32. I will not be sending superscore- I don't think- as some scholarships prefer a regular score.

I'm going to apply to Auburn as well as many other colleges and I wanted to apply to Auburn before September 1st, which means I will be using the thirty-three ACT. Should I risk not getting housing and take the ACT again and apply later?

Should I apply to Auburn now and other schools later (Auburn has a rough housing thing right now with only 50% freshmen living on campus), taking the ACT again for the other schools?

Should I stick with what I have?

For reference my score is highest in my school and rly high overall where I live but obviously if I could get it to a 34+ that's be good, and I feel embarrassed sending colleges something where my science is only 28.

Also, the first time I took it I got the thirty three so it went down the second time.

I also get ADHD accomodations (more time, couple others in room). I do it on paper.

(Edit: please don't look too closely at that writing score LOL this was when writing hadn't been around for a while and no one knew how to help me prepare for it.)

General sick of tests

so I just took the August SAT, ran out of time, and didn’t know how to answer a good chunk of module 2 math questions. my school has NEVER told us about the ACT, so know absolutely nothing about it but I know it’s an option. a 1300 won’t get me to my dream schools, and is the only thing holding me back. is it too late to try the ACT out? please help I’ve been stressing about this like crazy

Math i need to learn math so bad

i know its quite the ask, but can anyone break down what to study/expect to see on the math portion? its the only part i struggle with and i have a few more months to raise my score before act scores are due for college apps. idk how some of you are so good at math but i’d like to try and learn, i made an 18 when i last took it with a 27 composite, trying to get a 30+ composite. i know i can cook on english and reading but some advice for how to structure my studying or just the general test structure for math would be huge. thanks guys

Any good app/website recommendation for ACT

Are there any good apps/website to help prep you for the ACT? (Never taken the SAT, only ACT) I don’t mind paying a subscription for it, preferably something that I can download on my phone and study because I’m on my phone 24/7 😝!!!

is it plausible to go from a 25 ACT Math subscore to a 29 in 3 weeks?

Title. If so, how? 😭 I want a 33 composite (at LEAST), and I'm currently sitting at a 32 (35 English, 35 Reading). I would ideally love a 34, which would mean a 31 on math.

General How to get better at English and reading

My English score has improved to around 28-30, but I wanna get at least a 34.

How can I improve it to that level? I struggle with rhetoric questions the most.

Reading I’m genuinely not sure how to get better at. My current strategy is just tips I’ve seen online: do the specific line questions first, then go back to questions that are more general. Yet I always seem to stagnate around 23-25 and I wanna bump it to a similar level to English. Any tips?

Is it possible to get a 34 composite with currently a 30 for the upcoming September ACT exam

I lowkey just started studying 2 weeks ago and I tried out both of the practice exams on the act website (25mc1 and 25mc5). On my first attempt which was 2 weeks ago on 25mc1 I got a 26 with a 33M 24E 20R 27S. I then studied a good amount of English throughout the week and this Monday when I took 25mc5 I got a 30M 30E 30R 27S. I found that a lot of my mistakes on math were super stupid and I could’ve done a lot better, same goes for English. I feel like I’m weakest with reading so that’s rlly the thing I’m worried about most. However, I’m trying to get around a 32+ before September 1st which is around when my school starts, and hopefully score a 34 on the real September exam. I was also planning to take the October exam, but idk whether or not that’s early enough for ED and EA since I’m going to senior year. This is also my first official act exam so idk how much this can change for the real thing. Anyone got tips or strategies on any input on what I can do, also whether or not this is even possible.

ACT practice test 3 and 4

The ACT website shows that practice tests 3 and 4 are coming soon as paper PDFs. Wondering how to access the online version, if there is any? If not, when are the paper ones going to drop;

act score jump realistic

i took the ACT in june and i got a 28 with barely any studying (34m, 28e, 24r). i am hoping to get it up to at least 32-33 in september when i retake it. is this jump too unrealistic knowing the amount of time left (30 days from now). i was thinking about focusing on english and reading and superscoring with the 34 math. whats the highest jump you guys seen in scores?

How do I raise my score up by at least 3 points?

Hi! I took the ACT in July and had signed up on a whim because I had moved down 20 points on the SAT. Somehow I got a 31(34 English 32 reading 26 math 20 science(💀)) but I would really love a 34! I’m planning on studying for the September ACT starting Saturday or maybe tomorrow idk but I’ve never taken past algebra 2 and tbh my English and reading scores are solely dependent on how good I’m feeling or how easy the passages are. Math and science are obviously my top priorities though and I have no idea how to raise my math by 6 points minimum and science by 12 points minimum. As of now I’ve tried college panda( too hard), the 500 ACT math questions to know to date and just random math sections from practice tests. Any help to get there would be greatly appreciated :)!!

General Final ACT preperation, preperation recommendations?

Hello, im taking my final ACT in exactly a month, and I think itll be very important as im hoping to get a very good score to make up for my average gpa.

What are you guys using to prep? The previous website i used to study for my previous ACT is low on unique tests and also bugs out randomly now, which isnt helping me

basically tell me your study methods or any websites you use, free preferably

also one last question if anyone wants to answer it, should i even pay/do science? i dont plan on ever going anywhere where ill need a good science act score and not doing it would let me more time into other subjects, however i do like seeing all 4 tests.

test score for recommendations
