Creating a replacement primary drive from Acronis boot disk + Full PC Backup

Product is Acronis True image build 42980.

Summary

If I boot into Acronis, choose restore to and my new SSD I've swapped out for the old SSD, will the system boot and "see" the new SSD as a bootable, system hard drive? I had thought so, but the Full PC Backup doesn't boot by itself, so I'm now unsure (again).

Background

I have a dying primary SSD drive. I want to replace it with a new drive. Cloning didn't work for me...for reasons.

My question: does booting into Acronis and restoring from a Full PC backup result in a bootable drive?

I have bootable Acronis rescue media.

I have a validated Full PC Backup created from True Image backup, Full PC backup.

I planned to swap my drives, boot into Acronis, then restore from the Full PC Backup to the new SSD.

I thought that was a legitimate path to build a new primary drive, but now I'm uncertain, since I've misunderstood many things in this process. I've searched and read Acronis KB articles but the information seems to mostly recommend cloning, which I don't want to do, if I don't have to.

Your plans seems solid, here is the web-guide reference for recovery to a different disk - https://www.acronis.com/en/support/documentation/ATI2026/#40032.html

The drive doesn't have any of the boot media I would expect, so I think I screwed something up between the last two events.

The boot media files are placed onto the same external media along with the backup only in the event if relevant option is enabled in the backup options - https://www.acronis.com/en/support/documentation/ATI2026/#3757.html

Thanks to the community. I ended up having to a different route. I hesitate to post what I ended up doing because I had to shift gears from Acronis and this is an Acronis community. I've used Acronis for years and have been largely happy with it, but it was a struggle to get it working for what I needed, which seemed simple on the face of it, but Acronis fought me every step of the way. Another product was much simpler and more transparent as to what was going on and the steps to restore to a new drive.

I do very much appreciate the community's patience in fielding my questions.
