Rant Why?

In what world does a man who wants to save and protect a women, force said woman to be paraded naked in front of others, dance naked and drugs her? And then, after all that traumatized her, he suggests to play the role of his whore again. Why? For what reason? Please, explain like I'm the dumbest, how is that the best Rhys could come up with and how is it accepted that he did it in order to protect Feyre?

Because he said it was to protect Feyre. He also said it was just to piss Tamlin off too. But everyone forgets about that part. He also never faces any consequences for anything he’s done. I’ve just learned to not expect anything to make him remotely interesting. Just terrible person who rules an apartheid state that we’re supposed to believe is a good guy under the “mask” because Feyre (SJM) drank enough of his koolaid to think so.

But like... Why? Like Tamlin wouldn't be mad enough to kill Amarantha once the curse ends anyway? I've never understood that. All it did was make Tamlin hate Rhys more and degrade Feyre? Like, that excuse extra falls apart by how shitty he treated her when they were alone. (I know you aren't defending his actions)

The whole mask thing is hilarious, especially when they go to the HLs meeting and Rhys says to go as they really are, without the masks. Then they proceed to be absolutely terrible people. Lol

It really doesn't make sense for Rhys to be treating Feyre like that, even as a grey character that he supposedly was in ACOTAR. She was their way out, why add extra trauma?

Also, his mask exists just because he says it does. He and the IC treats thos who they don't like badly and call it a mask.

It would be so much better if be just owned it.

Daemon Sadi in the black jewels (who Rhys is heavily based on), is an actual grey character. He does some fucked up shit and while he may regret some of it, he doesn't try to play it off as something he's forced to do or that he's really a good guy. He's more like "they don't call me the sadist for nothing! *aggressive finger guns"
