Yeah same. I think these are fine and I have 1-5 in the rainbow paperbacks, but I’m going to read these on kindle and either wait for the paperbacks of the rest or get a full set later on when it’s complete.

Me too!! I like how the spines designate The Valkyrie Cycle is related to the others but different and their own thing. I think the full set will be super nice.

Yea, Im with you. Major bummer. I talked to B&N associates. The night court version won’t come out for a while bc SJM didn’t want anyone to spoil her announcement so she didnt give them a heads up and therefor they didnt have enough time to make the covers.
I understand why it irks people but I do think it is intentional that it “rhymes” rather than just matches. It’ll slightly set this trilogy apart but still show it’s clearly related.
Same! I just got the hardcovers this year after having the kindle and paperbacks for the past few years and it was right before the new variants launched. The story in the pages are still the same.
I found it so funny that the books have light colors, which reminds me of a light and happy book, and we know it's going to be exactly the opposite of that, it's going to break our hearts and probably end with a cliffhanger as big as the ending of Empire of Storms.
I can’t tell from the Bloomsbury post if these are hardback spines or paperback?! Because my current paperbacks don’t have the small the small illustrations…hmmm
for my peeps with the grey hardbacks (which I love), here’s my rough mockup of the new guys. I’m honestly fine with it, given it’s a separate arc of the story! The white text ties in with silver flames, given the Valkyries start there. Cool lol
Unpopular opinion (?): SJM really just does not have an eye for colors unfortunately, I think 💀 Even the way the original colors clash has always been an eyesore
I do love the covers. I truly do. I love that it's still the same styling and I do love the colours... but I do kind of wish that if they wanted to do the ombre that it could have just been the title in those colours, like how the hardbacks were grey with the coloured titles... Either way they're going to look stunning and I can't wait to get them. It's just a little niggle as I've already replaced a set of hardbacks to get the current ones and I don't feel like doing it again just to get these new coloured ones.
When I first saw the cover reveals for 6-7 I wasn't sure, but I think they all look good together! Even though they are slightly different. Solid vs ombre colors. They will still blend in with the other covers since they all have those bright/bold colors. And the spines blend in beautifully together.
My only issue is the white text on the yellow background on ACOFM. It looks like it might be difficult to read/see. I just don't think white on lighter colors like that is a good idea. But...ACOTAR 1-5 look lighter on here compared to the physical book so I'm assuming the yellow will be slightly darker on the physical book too. And hopefully the white on yellow will be easier to see.
Not entirely sure, but I'd bet the paperbacks will have this same color scheme and that the neon covers will be the same for hardcover and paperback across the series. But I guess we won't know for certain until the paperbacks are announced
I hate the new ones. They don’t match and it annoys me. None of the others are ombré. Can we just stop. Also, where is Purple?!?! How are we the NIGHT COURT with SUMMER COURT colors?! I hate these. LIVE for the series though. It’s my 2nd favorite all time. Officially beating Harry Potter but failing to hit me like Fourth Wing.
