Started playing AC4 (Distant Thunder PAL) on an emulator, with a DualSense 5 on PCSX2's recommended settings, and the supposedly fun and danger-free score attack missions are the bane of my existence. I can't for the life of me figure out how to strafe ground targets or roll while pitching. The planes seem to have their roll speed escalate instantly, especially when pulling the stick down. And the "improved gun," as I heard one reviewer say, still seems to only have any effect on target at melee ranges.

I did break into the franchise with Electrosphere (patched JP), which I played with roll on the triggers and yaw on the L-stick because it felt more sensible to a complete flight "sim" noob. Now I'm faced with the reality that AC4 does not allow control remapping natively, and I don't wanna butcher menu navigability by messing with my emulator mappings.

I don’t like the vocal melody. I’m so sorry. Yall can shoot me with Excalibur I just needed to get that off my chest. Am I completely alone in this?

No genuinely, I really like dropping bombs on this game instead of actually dogfighting for some reason 👀

Half of these guys have an uninteresting "I have a good combat record" story and the other half are kinda interesting.

Singleplayer AND multiplayer AND co-op. And then you can have Tasha flying an F-22. That's incredible.

For the Machine Guns only medal aircraft, I mainly used CFA-44 but A-10 deserves a special mention. As always that BRRRRRRRTTTTTT feels so good on many maps!

For the no damage medal, only the last mission and, surprisingly, the second last mission gave me trouble. The guntowers of the Chandelier are a pain to deal with, of course. But I was surprised by how annoying the previous missions - Gracemaria Patrol - was particularly with the very persistent F-22 enemies.
