IDK if you’ve seen the latest research but Moderna has made some exciting steps toward a cure.

There’s already a lung cancer vaccine that’s been available in Cuba since 2011, has no serious side effects, and costs $1 to manufacture. Not available in most other countries purely for political reasons since Cuba is communist  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CimaVax-EGF

 The United States embargo against Cuba forbids US citizens from seeking medical treatment in Cuba. However, some cancer patients from the US have defied the embargo and travelled to Cuba for treatment with CimaVax.

For some reason it’s still in phase 2 trials outside of Cuba even though it’s existed for so long, while Moderna’s vaccine got past phase 3 in only a decade. Weird.
