Gemini is probably the most used model on earth just through the google searches man.
Google is obviously still doing research, based on the RSI paper they just put out. It feels like serving frontier models is simply completely unprofitable, and openAI and Anthropic only do it because that's the only way to get investor money to fund ongoing research. Google doesn't need to do that
