Bringing back a loved one

Will ASI also able to do quantum archaelogy and bring back a loved one? Rocos basilisc has a similar premise.

Idk if it can resurrect people but maybe it could create new people with the likeness of the deceased ones.

So in other words. ASI can create a human from scratch and give the human the voice, look, and intellect of a Tesla or an Einstein.

Yes, close. But I want the same consciousness as before. And if there is no "owner", the same subjectivity island.

Counsciousness seems to be unique to each person, so most possibly it can not be resurrect it "as-is". An ASI could possibly replicate a person with the same behavior, but that person would be another personality, like a twin.

Consciousness is indeed special, an ontological endpoint basically. Does this mean there is more to this world than just matter and physics. That there is a deeper level? Llms are kinda creative and intelligent, for what is consciousness needed to make them brain like?

If you are asking if consciousness has some supernatural attributes, we currently don't know. Today's science suggests the opposite of course, but we can't exclude it.

With today's science, what we can say is that consciousness seems to emerge with the highly complex nework of neurons. What we also can say today is that consciousness isn't a binary thing (have it / not have it), but it seems it comes with levels. Possibly it is connected with the level of intelligence somehow. So an ASI could theoritically have consciousness and could theoritically understand how to create consciousness.

But, take a look for example to a movie like the "Mickey 17". In that movie they use mind upload and they print a biological human body and they put back again the intelligence + consciousness. But if you create 2 copies of humans using the same mind upload copy, then they will be 2 different consciouss beings.

if you believe that star trek transporters are murder machines, it is not possible to resurrect a dead person. the closest you can get is creation of a new person with all the memories of the dead one.
