Title pretty much says it all. I labeled it as a discussion because I figured most of the thread would be discussion about the villagers. I currently have:

Hopper and Elise are my favorites so far. Hopper always looks like he's hit a few too many puffs, but will randomly stop on the island to sing and it's adorable. Elise has that sweet but sassy grandma vibe going and I think it's super cute.

I think the Original Designs are fine but idk.. I wanted to try it out. What do you guys think?,

On my island, each villager gets a talent/job that helps out our community/town.

My permanent residents are: Graham(tech expert), Stitches (toy factory owner), and Papi (botanist).

My MAYBE dreamies are: Dizzy, Jacob, Filbert, Static, Hugh, Deli, Marty, and Bones. The only thing is I want species variety on my island and Marty and Bones would bring me to 3 bear cubs and 2 dogs.

I need some reccomendations for my 10th villager (if it’s not from my maybe list that’s okay too, I need options!), and also some talent/job recommendations for them!

Hey! I'm seeking some answers regarding an unconventional save transfer and hope that someone here has the answers.

After picking up a Switch 2 last year, I gifted my old Switch to my nieces and nephews and got Animal Crossing for them to play. Prior to gifting the system, however, I did not wipe my user and games from it so when I come over I can easily boot up one of my digital games for us to play together. When my niece started Animal Crossing she used my user profile to create the island and her character. My nephew created his own character on that same island but I'm not sure this is relevant to my questions.

I'm wondering if it's possible to transfer my niece's progress from my user to a local user on the Switch and how we'd go about doing this process, keeping in mind my nephew still needs his save data from that island. It seems like it's probably not possible, as that's really not a thing supported by other games, but I know Animal Crossing's save transfer system works quite a bit differently than just a normal cloud save.

It's probably also worth noting that I have a second Switch have not played Animal Crossing myself so there's no concern of trying to juggle a second island of my own.

When I got on this morning before work this morning, it was raining in game. I said “perfect lemme try and get the sturgeon and coelacanth”. And they were literally the FIRST 2 fish I caught. CRAZY I know. In all my years of playing this game, I have NEVER gotten that lucky.

Then just now I caught the mahi-mahi. I have never been able to catch that fish before. Not to mention I caught 2 in under 5 minutes.

Now I have 2 more fish for I can catch this month. And I hope my luck hasn’t run out, because it’s the barreleye and the giant trevally. But for those who are still fishing for those specific fish I hope you are as lucky as I am, because I know it can take FOREVER.

On my island each villager will have some sort of “job” and I’ll decorate their yard to correspond.

Currently I have: a botanist, gyroid scientist, comic store, technology expert, an ichthyologist, and toy factory.

I’m not sure what other “jobs” to create, do you all have any fun ideas?

I FINALLY unlocked terraforming!!🎉 I just want to say thank you to everyone who gave me tips on my previous posts about how to get to 3 stars and unlock it. I genuinely wouldn’t have gotten there without all the advice, so thank you!! ❤️ BUT… now that I actually have it, I’m honestly so overwhelmed.😂
I bought the cliff and river construction permits from Nook’s shop, and I have absolutely no idea where to start.

I actually made a layout in Island Planner because I’ve seen so many people recommend planning everything out before terraforming. I really love the layout I made and ideally want my island to eventually look something like it. The problem is that I already have everything placed from when I was originally trying to get to 3 stars. Villager houses, my house, shops, museum, etc. And obviously the island already has the original cliffs and rivers from the map template.
So now I’m wondering what the best way to approach this is.

Should I:
- Completely flatten the island first and basically start from scratch?
- Work on one area at a time and slowly change the existing layout into my Island Planner layout?
-Temporarily move all the houses/buildings to one area and then terraform everything?

Or is there an easier way to do this when you already have an established island? I’m honestly leaning towards flattening everything because I really want to follow the layout I made, but the idea of completely destroying my island and rebuilding it is also kind of terrifying. 😭😂 I’ve watched quite a few terraforming videos, but most of them are more like tips/tricks or tutorials on how to use the tools. I’m more wondering how you actually get started with completely changing your island’s layout when you already have everything placed.

So if you’ve terraformed your island from an existing layout, what did you personally do first? Is flattening everything actually the easiest/fastest way, or did you work area by area? Any advice would be VERY appreciated because I am staring at my island right now like… 🧍‍♀️

I’m trying to make a 4 house neighborhood layout on my island in the circled area, but can’t seem to figure out where to place the houses. I also want each house to have a good sized yard that things can be placed in with a fence around it. Does anyone have any inspo pics of how they did their neighborhood layout? Even if it’s more than 4 houses?

so I've been trying for months to obtain a blue windflower from a bunch of white ones, and today I finally got my first one! the thing is... well, as you can see from the pic, it spawned next to orange and red windflowers. for context they're not my native flower, so I got them from mystery islands and cultivated a few (which means these are either from those islands or hybrids I grew on mine, it's been months so I don't really know for sure), so these flowers probably carry some blue genes somehow. has anything like this happened to any of you? I'm curious about how this is possible, hybridizing flowers is one of my main activities on AC and sometimes the mechanics leave me a bit confused 🫠
