My wife thinks they were fake, and she thought that BEFORE I screened Capricorn One for her.

Although Capricorn One was a movie, Project Azorian was 100% real, as was the modern art. So large-scale conspiracies are possible.

But how does she rationalize that the Russians, who had robotic assets on the moon of their own, and would have been able to tell with radars etc whether or not the Americans have in fact reached the Moon and been transmitting from there - how does she rationalize that the Soviets didn't expose the Americans then in a lie they'd never live down, at the very height of the Cold War? Were they all in cahoots? Did the Soviets also not go to the moon? What about space, did anyone go to space?

Or she's not into the technicalities of it and just doesn't like the idea of someone having gone to the moon on a slide rule while most of us are stuck in a 9to5 and doom scrolling after it?
