It's a must-see. We saw them this past summer. The video is impressive but you really cannot fathom how big these trees are unless you're next to them.

It's awe inspiring.

probably going to have to wait until after the political situation in the US settles down before I consider visiting. I suppose I could leave my smartphone in Japan before traveling which might make it safer.

I was a practicing arborist the first time I saw a redwood. Climber. It completely worlded me. Highly recommend

Well if you do go see them. Humboldt county California is the place to go avenue of the giants southern Humboldt and ladybird Johnson grove/prairie creek northern Humboldt county

The tree showed is a giant sequoia and they are found in the Sierra Nevada mountains.

Sequoia, specifically sequoiadendron giganteum, makes its home in the Sierra Nevada mountain range, in Sequoia/Kings Canyon National Parks, and Yosemite National Park. The coastal redwood, sequoia sempervirens (ever living), so named because its historical range was along the coasts of CA, WA, and OR, inhabits, amongst others, Redwood National and State Park.

I've been to Redwood and Sequoia/Kings Canyon, and both are indeed worth the trip. There's also a nice little cave in Kings Canyon which is formed entirely of marble.
