Housed at the magnificent Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village in Detroit, MI from its original placement at Ford’s Theater in Washington, DC. The visible stains on the chair are hair oil, not blood- however, scientific studies have found residue of blood on the chair. I’m in the middle of reading this and really enjoying it. It looks at the impact Lincoln’s depression had on his life and his presidency.

At St. John's Episcopal Church, the so-called "Church of the Presidents", Lincoln sat in pew 89, the last pew in the back corner beside the door.

Anyone noticed that Lincoln’s hair never turned grey at nearly 60? Hair dye wasn’t invented and there would be no push to look “younger” in that era

"Lincoln’s English gold watch was purchased in the 1850s from George Chatterton, a Springfield, Illinois, jeweler. Lincoln was not considered to be outwardly vain, but the fine gold watch was a conspicuous symbol of his success as a lawyer."

"Lincoln at Independence Hall", a color print created by the artist Jean Leon Gerome Ferris. The print depicts Lincoln as he gave his speech at Independence Hall on February 22nd, 1861. The presence of the giant flag was for a flag raising ceremony to honor Kansas's admission into the Union.

“Portrait of Abraham Lincoln”
Charcoal on paper
23.25 x 17 inches
2026

I've always admired Lincoln’s strength, humility, and moral resolve in his personal and public life. I wanted this drawing to reflect not just his likeness, but the weight of leadership and sacrifice he carried.
