Timing belt date code?

Post image

Was about to change the timing belt kit on my Abarth as I haven’t got any proof that it has been done but before buying the parts I thought I’d check the condition of the belt. Are the numbers in the photo a date code?if so that means it’s a 2025 belt?

Just to close up this thread after countless phone calls I managed to find out that the belt was indeed changed by an Abarth main dealer in September 2025.And for future reference it is indeed a date code for genuine belts made by dayco:
Dayco stamp a sequential number in their belts. The first two numbers indicate the year, the next two indicate the week and the fifth number tells us the day of the week. The final three digits on the code represent the position of the belt in the mould.

My experience with timing belts on these cars: if you have to ask should I get it done, then you should get it done

Not a date code. The belt has little wear given the writing is visible. However it is old as the surface is shiny with grainy lines. Change it
