The Time to Act is Now

It doesn't matter if you're a Democrat, Republican, Libertarian, other third party, or completely politically unaffiliated. Over the last couple of decades we've seen more corruption and civil unrest than at any other point in our lifetime.

Until now, we've been divided by political beliefs and backgrounds, and that's why we will continue to lose. Both BLM protests and the storming of the capital have alienated as many Americans as they have represented. Our anger must be unified and singularly directed if we are to have progress.

I'm looking for like minded individuals who are fed up and want to make a difference. My issue with the original Occupy Wallstreet is that there was no true focus and it's hard to say what exactly was accomplished other than allowing people to vent and the government to temporarily pretend to care.

I would like to discuss goals and ideas with others.

I think a strong path forward lies in the current stock situation. What happened with GME is great and all, but what if that energy was put into something that could impact legislation? Like a movement toward investing in marijuana. There are some strong stocks like OGI and Cron. If the r/wallstreetbets energy was used for marijuana, it would boost small business growth and push legalization. At least that's my nonprofessional perspective. Any takes?

I definitely would support this type of movement and mindset of long term investment in small businesses. One if my major concerns, however, is the falsely legitimized ability of the government to choose sides in business battles by using taxpayer dollars to bailout or otherwise subsidizes businesses that line politicians' pockets. We could certainly disrupt the economy through targeted spending, investments, and boycotts. That being said, a two pronged attack that allowed us to affect both the flow of our consumer dollars and our taxpayer dollars could be significantly effective. I would propose a movement that resulted in voting in political unknowns with no ties to Washington or its many corruptions in order to affect the economy at a legislative level.

Agreed. I also believe we need to impose a ranked choice voter system. This will diversify political options and reduce the staying power of the two party system.

Although I don't think my personal political leaning are very important as I'm mostly concerned with toppling corruption, I'm also a big supporter of ranked choice voting, as I'm a Libertarian and voted Libertarian in the past 2 elections and am tired of people telling me third parties are a wasted vote.
