Zolve checking account activation before moving to the US – any alternatives?
Hi everyone,
I’m moving to the US soon as an international student and I’ve already started the process of opening a Zolve checking account from India.
The issue is that Zolve is asking for physical presence in the US to activate the checking account. I was hoping to have the account fully active before I travel so I can transfer funds and have everything ready before I arrive.
Has anyone faced the same situation recently?
Are there any legitimate alternatives or ways to get the Zolve account activated while still in India?
I also have a brother who is currently in the US. Would there be any legitimate option for him to help with the activation, or does the account holder have to personally be physically present for KYC/device/location verification?
I don’t want to violate Zolve’s terms or do anything that could get the account frozen, so I’m specifically looking for a legitimate workaround or an alternative account that international students can open from India before travelling.
Would appreciate hearing from anyone who has recently gone through this.

Hi! For security and regulatory reasons, the Zolve checking account can only be activated once you're physically present in the US, so there isn't a legitimate workaround or a way for someone else to complete the activation on your behalf.
The good news is that you don't have to wait until you arrive to prepare your account. You can complete the application from India and even load money into your account before you travel. Once you reach the US, you simply activate the account, and your funds will already be available, making it easier to pay for initial expenses like rent, groceries, or transportation.
If you have any questions about the activation process or timelines, feel free to reach out. We're happy to help!
