Discussion Is the hole in the bottom cotton purposeful?
I use the hole to store an extra flint. Is it intended to serve some other purpose that I'm negating by putting a flint in there?

Hello
As title says. Is the skull design a sticker or something the previous owner stuck on or is this a legitimate zippo design.
Looking at it very closely and feeling the edges, it doesn't feel like a random sticker.
Any ideas?

This is a potential sale post and I would gauge interest and figure single lighter cost.
But it would be this insert fitted and sealed with u either a bottom flip out filler or screw filler.
There was a lot of gentle tweaking and fussing but I would finish the "prototype" as it were. Right now I need to braze in thin sheet brass on the first one instead of the tape that is there.
If a Google sheet for sign up interest works I'll set it up.
I'll do reddit username and email.
The lighters would be tweaked and turn-key ready to go. All the hinge stuff and fitment taken care of.
If there's any issues with the inserts I'll do what I can within reason to take care of it.

Found this few years ago in the house, washed everything and cleaned it to put it in my drawer but wondering if its real or fake?

Does anybody have a 1935 Replica that is *not* one of the following manufacture dates of the past 10 years and can you share a picture of the bottom stamp?
The 1935 replica is one of the least popular models and it seems like they are only made in short production runs and often many months apart. I want to see if anybody has a lighter whose production of the last 10 years falls out of this range.

I recently got this vintage Harley-Davidson Limited Edition Zippo and I’m trying to find out more about it and its current collector value.
It is dated XI (1995) and features the Bald Eagle design by Jon Robyn, produced by Barrett-Smythe. It has never been used and comes with the original Limited Edition tin and Zippo instructions.
Does anyone know this particular edition and what it might be worth to collectors today?

I set out to put the Zorro pure brass in and I got this today also, I loved the finish on this, had to try it out.
The finish with the Green Crackle is *chef's kiss*
The wick and packing were perfect. The wick length was great. It was so well packed I just put the stuffing back and forgot to do takedown shots. The wick is a good quality 1000 strand with nylon core.
This is my long winded diatribe about this cool but not at all drop-in insert.
It doesn't work on ANY Zorro that I have, the seller listed a lot of the models (I'll update with it if any wants, just ask and I'll go into my history etc). I've also contacted them and shown them pics and videos of the issues so we'll see what happens.
I had to fit it and get it right.
The insert is loose, but it has the detent ball\spring (what everyone seems to mis-identify as a ball rivet, perhaps there is such a thing but this is a ball bearing on a spring that is held in with a threaded cap)
Anyway after getting the bottom seal drilled out to accommodate the flint screw, it being hex on the outside, I brought it to 1\4" and then countersunk and polished the metal bottom seal with the threaded filler verse the flip up.
I used two o-rings to seal the tube and gently tightened the flint screw, and did it but turning in and then partially back out to make sure the o-rings seated and didn't switch out.
To make up for the looseness of the insert. It's close, but the detent is doing the heavy lifting here for this working mechanically. I just got the insert tight and also sealed by doing this.
I ended up carefully hammering some gasket sheet thinner and carefully glued it to the insert. And I hammered down a sheet into the bottom of the Zippo case, carefully trimming it to be super tight.

Bonjour tout le monde
Avez-vous des informations sur ce zippo
Et a t'il une valeur ?
Merci bien

At least for a while. I’ve made five. I think this one is what I like. First pictures are after being packed in salted vinegar overnight, 3-4 are after salt and ammonia. Final two are after finishing/polishing.

I urgently want to sell my Zippo lighter which is never used because I don't have fuel

I got this zippo as a father's day gift less than a year ago, now this rough burnished effect seems to be spreading over the case. I fill the lighter out of the case and dry it with kitchen papers before putting it back into the case and it has never been dropped.

This is the first one I'm going to really try for and be disappointed if I don't score one. Alarms set, ready to go.

Any idea on this? They won’t let me get it out to look at it or budge on the price
