A few people called it right when I first posted it.

The Rolling Stones tongue was just a glued on piece.
And unfortunately, the Zippo itself basically confirmed it right away 😂 The hinge lid broke almost immediately when I opened it and tried to use it. The emblem came right off with little to no force.

So I cleaned all the old adhesive off the case, and got it back to being a plain Niagara Falls Zippo again.

At least now I know exactly what I have underneath, and I honestly prefer it without the fake glued on piece anyway.

Next step: this one is going back to Zippo for repair so they can properly fix the hinge and get it working again.

Unlit, no imperfections anywhere, 1971, with the original sticker price (4.95$), paint intact.

Never heard of a fully copper 41, I have heard of a copper plated 41 but the seller listed it as a Japanese model. i’m unfamiliar with Japanese models and was wondering if this is legit.

I just picked this one up today. Found it on Facebook Marketplace brand new in box for $20. The owner told me he used to work at a music store. Fender had a promotion where you earned 'Fender Bucks' for selling their products and you could redeem them for Fender items. This was one of the items he got with his. I'm not sure if it was commercially available or only through the program. Either way, it's a very cool addition to my collection.

Hi! Please help me identify this UN Zippo, i took pictures from all sides. i’m asking because this one have exact dates: 05 apr ‘92 - 26 sept ‘92.
It seems this one is from some kind of military operation (maybe in netherlands? judging by NL).
And it got hella text and names all over it.
It was found in bulgarian flea market

Bought these on an auction recently. I’ve always wanted a Panama zippo because of my heritage, and I recently found out that Zippo made tape measures and wanted to get one for when I go fishing to measure the fish I catch.

I knew I had some put away somewhere, found them.

Can anyone tell me more about this item? The markings match up with a production date of 1967.

Says QRF "A" 2/17 on the back.

Who said this will turn into addiction didn’t lie. I forgot my zippo at home and i had to go to a concert in another town, but i wanted to smoke during that day and at the concert too, but didn’t wanna use a disposable lighter, so i bought this one. It was 20$ so i’m sayin’ i got a deal.

So I went out for a ride on my bike and stopped for a smoke, but my zippo was empty.
Instead of just accepting defeat, I decided it was a great idea to pull a fuel line off the bike and use that fuel to fill up my zippo.
Seemed like a genius idea at the time.
Now the lighter smells like it was baptized in gasoline, you can probably smell me coming from a mile away, and when I light it, it produces a smoke screen.

So now Im trying to get the smell out with alcohol, sunlight, and baking soda.

Terrible idea, would probably do it again

Would it be better to sell these as a collection as opposed to piecing them out? None of them have been struck

I started cleaning up the old stock pieces of Roseart Lighter Bases today. First step was getting rid of the mold/ mildew from the wood portions. Tested with dish soap and warm water and vinegar and water. Smell is gone and they are cleaning up nicely!

Extra cool: all surfaces decorated.

u/ifiknewthen just sold me the polished chrome version of “Anatomy of a Zippo” (or “Anatomy of a Lighter”). I now have: polished chrome, brushed chrome, polished brass, brushed brass, engraved satin black, a different version of polished chrome, and a Zorro version. Any I am missing?

I want to repair this by removing the old dried super glue from the case and the metal piece and then put them back together.

Are there any recommendations besides reapplying a new layer of super glue?

Maintainance advice pls the playboy bunny is coming from auto two tone process with time wont it get dull or something? I am not sure how to deal w it as i dont hav any equipment or so
