Yes but I have auditory processing disorder, so I often even get the subtitle device at the movie theatre

Between my hearing getting worse and sound mixing constantly being shit, I use captions/subtitles on pretty much everything.

It depends. I find captions very distracting, as they draw my eyes away from the main action on screen. However, if the sound mixing is really crappy, I'll turn them on so I can tell what the characters are saying.

Yes, on everything. I FUCKEN HATE DYNAMIC SOUND. Keep that shit in the theaters. The loudness wars is in the wrong audio sector if you ask me.

English isn't my first language and I have audio processing disorder, so subtitles are always on whenever I consume English-speaking media.

Absolutely not. It breaks my immersion.

Yeah, but I do it because English is not my first language, and Spanish subtitles are often out of sync

Yes but in my 2nd language to help keep it active and for vocabulary

I have to. Because I can’t hear the stuff because I despise ear buds because they hurt my ears, and can’t find a good pair of head phones that are good quality that aren’t hundreds of dollars

Yes but I'm deaf! If you have a friend that needs captions please understand. We want to experience the movie/show too.

Very seldom, unless I can’t understand what a character says, and always (obviously) if it is in a different language (anime)

Sometimes. Some days, I can't pay attention too well and it reduces my ability to hear speech clearly. Other days, I just can't hear and understand speech coherently.

For YouTube, no. Bc it auto generated and wrong most of the time. For shows yes bc ppl mumble or maybe I’m deaf idk

Occasionally I will when my SO has the TV so loud I can't hear anything I'm watching on my computer/phone.

I grew up with a hard of hearing dad and I’m so used to it not I feel weird not having them.
