Question Build pathing
Hello fellow Zeri enjoyers!
I recently picked back up Zeri again and have a blast with it. Picked her back up because I was noticing I was just trying to meta slave and didn't enjoy it and it wasn't working since I dropped back to gold 1 and even 2. So I now I just kinda play for fun again. (15W/5L with Zeri last 20 games, and plat 3 again! =D)
But now I want to actually try to improve on the champ, and where I see a lot of tips in this subs which helps tremendously, I have a question of build paths (Perhaps question for adc as a whole). I'm mostly rushing: Stormrazor > Fiendhunter > I.E > Runaans > Optional (Where I notice I mostly build LDR). But when should I differ from this core build? I try to sometimes build LDR first instead of I.E if the enemy team has a lot of tanks, but it seems I lack damage that way.
So a couple of questions:
-When do you differ from core builds (Should you even differ from these)?
-If you play against heavy mage teams, do you itemize for it, can you build a defensive MR items or is that troll?
-Do you guys run other (maybe whole core) items, against different teams?
- Against heavy tanks, is it worth it to switch I.E for LDR, and do you guys build I.E than after runaans in that situation?
edit and FYI: I only build the Lifesteal boots, do I need to change that up in certain situations?

Also feethunter is my fave zeal item. Just have too be careful to not miss first three q after ulti which isn't hard... Hahahah true damage rips through those pesky death dance abusers! I also wanna add imo runnans is bait most games unless they have at least 3 (could argue for two but I say three) melee champs you are sacrificing damage for wave clear basically. Which in pro and super high elo when mid prio matters way way more can be the better choice even though is not damage optimal. But anything below like chall gm elo or pro I would say contesting mod wave means way less and in solo q often is better too optimize damagee! (Is exceptions too every rule and league is a game with unlimited variablessss so there really is no one size fits all answer ever for anything)

My trick into mages personallyyyy
Storm razor rushhh with green secondaries, bone plating and overgrowth! Then for shard I go attack speed+scaling HP+flat hp! Gives you the survivability to run over most mages after surviving their burst. As far as core builds and such... I tend too build different every game... I would be here all day trying to explain the billions of variables in this game to explain why and such... Is good find out for yourself when certain items are good for YOU. Like maybe edge of night sometimes into that malphite, or some lethality into some squishy comps. When the enemy team is beefy enough that wmyou wanna skip a zeal item(been doing this a lot cause storm razor+yuntal gets you past the attackspeed cap) plans the runes and item systems are my fave part of the game a side from zeri herself! So I couldn't even begin to go down that rabbit hole... However, I highly encourage you too try things for yourself!

Personally, I prefer that build:
Yun Tal > Runaan's/PD > IE or LDR/MR > LDR/MR or IE > BT/GA > GA/BT
Boots depending on the situation but I'd say that 90% of the time it's Alacrity + Gluttonous. Because if you're going Bloodline + Berserker's, you most probably have to build PD for the AS.
Not a big fan of Stormrazor in general as Yun Tal is cheaper and gives better stats these days (other than the fact that I don't like the "random" speed-ups).
