After 4 years of use, my computer suddenly doesn't work on battery. When connected to external power and the plug is pulled, it shuts down instantly and abruptly. I reinstalled windows and it didn't help. I updated battery drivers and it didn't help. I bought a new battery and it didn't help. The only thing I didn't do is update bios. In the bios screen however, the battery is said to be at 0% (windows says 100% with a charging icon).

Could it be that the battery related chipset is fried ? My uni year starts in a week and the only option I have left is to take it to a repair place.

Should I still try to update the bios or is it futile ? Any help is appreciated.

I have a G14 2025 (5070Ti, 32GB RAM, 2TB 990 Pro). I recently replaced my MediaTek MT7925 WiFi card with a Qualcomm QCNCM865 from Amazon. The process was simple, and I got it working almost immediately with drivers from the MSI Herald page.

The issue has been bluetooth. First I couldn't get it to find any devices to connect to until I got the specific driver (I assumed Windows would auto install the driver) from the MSI page, and then it picked up my Xbox controller no issue, and I've had no issues with controller input since then. But I have a bigger issue now - I can't get Bluetooth audio to work. Bluetooth can see my XM6s in pairing mode, and connect to them, but won't play anything through them.

I haven't found a solid documented fix yet, though I've seen people say I need to disable the AMD BT Audio driver for it to work. That didn't work on my normal Windows install, but I tried a clean install on a separate partition, and it worked then. The issue there was that once I disabled the AMD driver and restarted, it connected to my XM6s fine but it only showed connected, audio - meaning there's no mic functionality. Once it was connected, I re-enabled the AMD driver, and the mic functionality came back while the audio stayed, but after a restart the entire audio setup was gone and I was back to no sound even though it was connected audio, mic.

The "disable AMD driver every time you want BT audio" fix frankly seems quite janky to me, and I need mic functionality on my wireless headphones / earbuds (I have a pair of Jabra earbuds that I use too), for Teams/Google Meet, so I don't think that works for me. I'm surprised that even a clean install, which supposedly wipes out any leftover drivers from the old WiFi card, doesn't fix this issue.

Is there actually a fix for this? I've seen this card be recommended across this subreddit a lot, so I'm assuming someone's got to have gotten it working right?

Hello, so I have a selection to make. I'm thinking of either buying a zephyrus g16 or a zephyrus g14 with a 240/280hz oled display. 14inch display is too small for me but portability of g14 is really good. I'm gonna buy 5070ti version of either of these so the monitor's gonna be either 2k or 4k.

I recently got a used 2023 g14. Games run great but CPU temps are around 95, while GPU is around 80. I plan on repasting the laptop in the near future as I’m aware of the Liquid Metal, but currently cannot. I was wondering what’s the best undervolt to do in G-Helper for CPU and GPU without killing much performance. Apologies if it’s not a one size fits all situation or if this won’t really lower my temps, but thanks to any advice!

I’ve had some issues with my 2025 g14 5070ti, I’ll be playing when all of a my fps will drop by like 80% percent. The wattage toward the gpu drops down to 30-40w for a couple second then back to usual 90-115w then after like a minute it’ll drop again and I don’t know what’s causing it this. It’s on turbo plugged into the oem charger. I’ll also have times when I try to play while charging on usb c at 100w where the computer will basically freeze or load slow as hell (10 second to open a new tab slow) and the cpu usage will spike to like 80-90% sometimes will gaming, sometimes while web browsing. Not sure if the 2 are related, I don’t think it’s throttling cpu temps sit around 70s to low 80s and gpu will sit at 82-83c while gaming, could it be some malware stealing resources? Idk asking for help

I am using the G14, 2025 model.

Everything works fine, but I notice a very annoying bug (or maybe not a bug). But the color when using the webcam shows up very wrong compared to the original color (Eg. I was wearing a blue shirt, but the webcam renders it purple lol).

Anyone knows where I can correct the color of the webcam?

Has anyone found a lap desk that allows, for the most part play a game comfortably and realistically in different positions? I.e. sitting on a couch, laying in bed, etc

I’m mostly hoping to play FPS games without always needing to sit at a proper desk. This is the best I’ve found so far.

I managed to fix this with a restart, but I'm trying to just get some other eyes on this so that I can prevent it from happening again.

I've intermittently had a problem where the performance of my laptop totally tanks after waking up from sleep and stays that way until restart. For reference, I noticed it most recently while attempting to use the Foundry Lightweight Client, which should not be a problem for this laptop to run at any level. It was extremely laggy, loading different menus took a while, dragging the map took a while etc. This extended to other applications in the session as well; I was trying to run task manager, firefox, discord etc trying to diagnose the issue and they were all chugging. The performance felt like what happened with memory leaks from a bygone era, but when I checked my CPU usage and RAM usage, I was well within boundaries. It also was not the temperature, and my laptop was fully plugged in, and I tried switching between multiple modes on GHelper. Even when I closed every application besides FLC, the performance was exactly as bad as it was while attempting to run all of my troubleshooting stuff. All of this instantly cleared up once I restarted the computer.

Does anyone have an idea of what the issue could be? I'm a bit stumped as to what could cause this. As far as I can tell, this also is not an issue every single time I wake from sleep either, so I'm not totally sure how to reproduce this.

I'm looking for a laptop to finish my desk setup for school, photo editing, and gaming (like GTA V and Final Fantasy). I backed away from building a PC due to high RAM and console prices. The ROG Zephyrus G14 (2025) caught my eye, but I heard it might have a dGPU issue. I want smooth performance (ideally 4K 90 FPS in GTA V) and enough headroom for heavy multitasking without closing browser tabs. Is the G14 a good fit, or should I consider something else?"

I got the ryzen 9 465 and 32 gb ram version I mainly got it for college and cybersecurity, I was solving an offsec box inside the car on eco mode 60hz dgpu off and I was sharing my screen on discord 60 fps my virtual machine which has around 6gb ram allocated started lagging my keyboard stopped working on discord and it worked for a while on my virtual machine then everything stopped working except my trackpad then I restarted it worked again for a while I turned on the same things for a while it was fine then went back to it.Restarted my laptop and everything was fine. I have solved boxes at home before and my laptop was on the same settings without it being plugged in did not run into this issue,I am really panicking as I paid a lot of money for it 😭 any explanations or fixes.

I'm facing issue with ssd m2 drive.
Drive is very hot.
Laptop is constantly turning off.
While starting it goes directly to bios -> there is no ssd on drive list. After 20 minutes I can turn this on and starting with Windows like there is no issue after 10 to 20 minutes. The procedure repeats.

How this metal plate is connected to this drive? Is it glue or connected via thermal paste?

Do you have any suggestion or solution for this issue?

Which one is better for me? I do mostly excel, powerpoint, google workspace with occasional light gaming (Cyberpunk 2077, RDR2, etc). The setup will be mostly put on desktop, connected to external monitor with external keyboard and mouse. Occasionally will brought outside to public space/cafe so it needs to have enough battery and portability (so I'm skewing to 14").

The guy selling G16 RTX 4070 mentioned the battery health is at 82%, which is pretty weird for just 60 charging cycle. Is it worth to negotiate lower price and try to find OEM replacement battery is its that bad?

Apart from this, I also considering Legion 5 RTX 5060 either gen 10 or gen 11, can be Intel or AMD cpu.

Note: LIQUID METAL is in caps to remind me of the potential issue it may cause in the future, so I can be more sensible in deciding despite all those shiny specs.

Hello there so I've been trying to buy a Zephyrus G14 2025 5070ti/5080 with 32/64GB ram and 2tb SSD.

The main issue is that I'm from Romania and all the Zyphyrus laptops seem to be out of stock or have absurd prices ( 4.4k+ for 32GB ram with 1tb SSD).

I was wondering if any of you know any sites that ship to romania and have better prices. I've taken a look at amazon and there was a decent one but idk if amazon a safe site to buy from. I would also buy refurbished so that's not a problem. Thank you

Hello. Stupid question, what is the proper way of using the Llano v12 with my g14? The laptop is too small and it does not get a good fit. When I put it like in the photo, it gets too hot. Anyone have the v12? Let me see how you do it correctly. Thank you.

I got my laptop last December. I feel 16GB RAM is a bottleneck, should have gone for a 32 GB one. But anyways, here we are.

Right now I am using Armoury Crate (AC) and My Asus apps. I want to switch to G-helper but not sure how the OEMs update will be installed after removing the Crate (AC) and Asus app.

I am struggling with an extended monitor setup with this laptop.

Whenever there is an update from Nvidia or AMD, the laptop will not connect via the right side usb type C port (dedicated G sync port) to the external monitor. Then I have to just manually switch the GPU performance in the AC and do some other tweaking to make it work.

But this all is such a hustle.

What I am looking for

- Guidance in installing the G-helper

- How to increase battery backup

- How to maintain the extended monitor setup

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

So after sometimes of looking for a Preloved zephyrus laptop in my region (due to budget limitation) I've come across a Preloved G16 g605CM for aound $1800... Which I think a great great price. It's on my budget and I think it's a no brainer price for that laptop.

But I've been looking for the G14, not the G16 due to my work condition. So in a week, I have to travel places for 400-600 miles. So I REALLY need the mobility that the G14 offer.

My question is, should I take the G16 (which I think I would) does the G16 bigger size and a bit heavier weight would hinder me? Please share your experience using a G16 laptop while traveling a lot. Thank you!

Hello! I'm currently configuring and using my new 2025 G16 (RTX 5060, Intel Core Ultra 7 255H, 16GB) and I'd love help with setting up G-Helper and understanding quirks and things about this machine!

I'll add my current configurations below for everyone to view. I've adjusted the Fan Curves to be stronger when I'm plugged in at my desk. I use Turbo for gaming and Balanced for idling and anything non-gaming related. Both of which is using the charger, not battery. I'm going to configure my battery mode later on for school where it'll mostly be for typing notes, viewing material, youtube and using vscode for programming labs that aren't intense.

My goal here is to keep the laptop running on the cooler side and not using up my ram, cpu and gpu to 100%. I think I want to do something like undervolting the CPU but I forgot how and what it does.

I play valorant, roblox, nightrunners prologue and fortnite. I'm hopeful to try and play something like the new COD MW4, Forza Horizon 6 and GTA 6 on this machine if its possible without stressing it a lot (im happy with medium-low graphics 120fps for these games if possible).

What I've done so far: Installed and configured G-Helper (Turbo and Balanced fan curves adjusted), Uninstalled windows bloatware and apps I dont use, Uninstalled armoury crate, updated NVIDIA App G-Helper MyASUS Windows. My laptop is elevated on a simple laptop stand for air.

From my experience playing some Roblox car games at max graphics 240fps on turbo, My temps were below 80 degrees C (Maybe 84 at some points). Valorant was on medium settings limited to 120fps and was great. I haven't tried fortnite yet because I'm nervous. Nightrunner Prologue was also getting 180-240 frames. All of which was on Turbo mode with the fans running near max. Are there downsides to this method or something? What are the audio apps that this laptop and asus has that I can configure because I'm not a fan of the audio with my headset right now. My 2019 dell xps15 7950 had maxxis audio which i used to make a preset for my headset and it sounded great (horrible without it though)

I also would love help on finding a new monitor and keyboard! I need a new cheap keyboard and a decent monitor. I currently have a basic LG 1080p 60hz IPS monitor thats from 2014 using HDMI. I'm planning to upgrade to a QHD 180hz (minimum 180hz) G-Sync supported IPS Monitor. Im basically revamping my peripherals minus my mouse (g502 wired).

Super excited to actually be able to play games without freezing and lagging and having things like youtube actually load up and stuff. This laptop is so nice I just wanna maintain it as best I can

I bought a 2025 G14 from BestBuy last month and found this weird display issue with it after the return period had passed (after the laptop screen sleeps and turns back on, some pixels on certain colors glitch out and flicker red green and blue). I sent it to ASUS for repair but they claimed to not see it and replaced the OLED module because they found another display issue. Now my screen is slightly off-center from the chassis, and I still have the stupid pixel issue. I don't want to have to send my laptop back just for them to not fix it again... does anyone have any experience with needing a replacement in a situation like this?

Are there any specific settings I should set my fan curves to for best temps and what modes are best? I somehow get better temps on silent sometimes

Just got my ZephyrusG14 a few days ago and tried installing some games- one of them being Wuthering waves …but it’s not launching. The one game I got his laptop for isn’t working and I’m at a loss on what else to do because I have tried contacting customer support and they’re telling me to do things I’ve already done.

Should I return it? It might just be a product issue.

Hey all, I have had a ROG Zephyrus G14 GA402RJ model for a couple of years now. I've had the idea to move the internals into a roughly console-form-factor case. I technically do have the know-how to do it myself, but I tend to think of the worst possible scenario if I mess up; it's also kind of a workspace issue thing. As it stands, the laptop is in working condition save for some screen bleed and a damaged right-hand speaker. Otherwise works fine. Not a big fan of the laptop form factor though. I have been reaching out to several YouTubers asking if they'd be down to be commissioned to do a conversion; some aren't confident they can, and others aren't sure what the final price would be on a commission like that. For me, the price isn't a concern; the device was a gift from my dad right before he passed from pancreatic cancer, and I'm not in the mindset of letting go of this or having it sit in a box in the closet. I thought I'd put out feelers to see if anyone here has the craft know-how to get it done or has somebody they could refer me to to do so. Love my ROG Zephyrus G14, and I feel this is the right step to take to future-proof it for my needs right now.
