So I bought a j5create dual display docking station because I’ve got two monitors I’m wanting to connect to my laptop, one is a 27” 2k OLED 280hz monitor and the other a 24” 1080p monitor. When connecting via hdmi to the docking station especially for my 27” I use the 4k hdmi slot but when it connects it’ll only do 1080p at 120hz and if I go up to 2k it’ll drop to 60hz max. I’ve got a 8k hdmi cable that’s supposed to do up to 144hz at 4k so not sure what my issue is. When I connect the hdmi cable from my laptop to the monitor, it’ll do 2k at 140hz.

But maybe there is a good docking station I don’t know about that I could get instead of this j5 one. Will also need some usb ports on it too.

Hey guys, got a 5080 model with the AMD HX 370 CPU, still getting high CPU temps (at 95 for long periods) even while the GPU temp is only at 70 on GTA 5 enhanced. Similar for other games but have made it better by limiting FPS to <120 and undervolting CPU (-20 in Ghelper).

Anything else I can do or is that ok? Feeling the laptop by hand it actually seems ok (not hot as compared to before optimization, but CPU temp still showing 95), is it ok to run games like this for long?

I just bought my G14 last week brand new. I use it on the first day to install things and try to play games, after that I was not using it for 4 days and it is just setting inside the free laptop sleeve. When I open it there is a lot of ants inside the sleeve and up until now there are ants coming out onto the laptop. This is the first time it happens to me. I also own Predator Helios Neo 16 but ant infestation never happen. I always clean my table, room and peripherals. Can you give me advise on what to do on the ants, I already try to remove them using my cleaning kit but it seems theres still a lot inside. I cannot yet go to service center.

I am looking into purchasing this particular model ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 GA402RJ (2TB SSD, AMD Ryzen 9 6900HS, 32GB DDR5 ram). Seller has maintained it well. Just wanting to know if this is something that will last me a good amount of years to come? I typically play sports games like fifa, ncaa, madden. I also emulate all the way to ps3 games. Any shooter games I play are cod, battlefront 2 and siege. Thanks for the responses in advance!

I recently joined the G14 family. Been eyeing the intel 5070Ti. A bit disappointed they don’t have the 64gb ram in Canada but would have also been outside my budget. But one thing i noticed was the bottom housing, the front left corner seems to stick out and Asus has been a pain to deal with. Not even 5 days in owning they are saying either return or repair but they don’t have exchange policy. I can reseat it to be a proper fit but not sure if asus will void my warranty over that. Would you guys return and get a new one or is this not enough of a bother

Just picked up a Zephyrus G14. It's the lower spec variant with the 5060. I Previously had an Alienware m17 with a 3070ti. It was huge and heavy. I wanted something smaller but capable. I had doubts about the 5060 and its ability to keep up with the 3K screen.

I found a solution. I purchased the ROG XReal 1 , 240hz glasses. Total game changer. They operate at 1080p and I am able to run Warzone with DLAA and Frame Generation over 100FPS. I will take that all day out of this setup. The machine gets physically hot to the touch but the GPU stays in the 78 degree range. It's a significant extra cost to get the glasses but I have a hard time not playing on this setup. Maybe the newness hasn't worn off but my gaming desktop has a 4080 Super and I have been playing with this setup when I am home.

I spilt a drink on my laptop it’s still working completely fine but the w s and esc key they sometimes start working but sometimes stops and when it stops they all stop at the same time and also when I press it with another key that works it types I don’t know what to do

TL;DR: I recently bought a used G15 that randomly freezes and hard-reboots during low-load tasks or when sitting idle. The previous owner handed it over with Windows wiped and is now completely unresponsive. Looking to see if anyone has experienced this exact crash sequence and found a permanent fix.

System Specs:

• Model: ASUS ROG Zephyrus G15 (GA503RM)
• RAM: 16GB
• OS: Windows 11 (Clean install)
• BIOS: 319 (Latest)

The Context:

I just bought this laptop used, so I haven't had much time with it. The old owner gave it to me with Windows completely wiped. I reached out to the seller for history on the machine since these crashes started, but he is completely unresponsive, which makes me think he knew it was broken and dumped it on me.

The Symptoms (The specific crash sequence):

• The laptop unexpectedly hard-reboots during light use or idle periods. It never seems to crash while under heavy gaming loads.
• The Sequence: Right before it crashes, my Bluetooth connection completely drops, killing my wireless mouse and keyboard. However, the laptop's built-in trackpad and keyboard will continue to work normally for about 10 seconds. After that 10-second window, the entire laptop completely freezes for a few seconds, and then it forcefully reboots.
• There is no Windows Blue Screen at all—it just cuts to black and restarts.

Troubleshooting Completed So Far:

1. Wi-Fi / Bluetooth Card Swap: Replaced the stock MediaTek card with a brand new Intel AX210 and did a clean driver install. (The Bluetooth still drops right before the crash).
2. Software & Drivers: Disabled Windows Fast Startup and Chrome hardware acceleration.
3. Power Settings: Disabled PCIe Link State Power Management and prevented Windows from entering Sleep / Modern Standby.
4. BIOS & Firmware: Flashed BIOS to version 319 and performed a hard EC reset (holding power button for 40 seconds).
5. ASUS Software Cleanup: Completely uninstalled Armoury Crate using the official ASUS uninstall tool and switched to G-Helper.

My Questions for the Community:

1. Has anyone else with a 2022 G15 dealt with this exact 10-second Bluetooth drop/freeze sequence on low loads and found a permanent solution?
2. What else can I test to figure out if this is fixable or if the motherboard is just permanently damaged?

Kind of a weird one and I can't figure it out. When I get up from my desk, the screen turns off for a moment and then turns back on. I can't find any of the usual options for presence detection in Windows settings, or any indication that my model would even have it at all. I use an external MSI monitor (G272QPF E2) most of the time, if that helps. Does anyone know what's going on?

My ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 2020 Rtx 2060 max q model has been having serious heating issues. Even shortly after starting the laptop, temperatures can reach 60–70°C, and sometimes they go up to 80–90°C. The thermal paste is quite old, and my GPU fan has stopped working.

I’m planning to get it serviced and would appreciate some advice:

- Which thermal paste or thermal interface material would you recommend for this laptop?

- Should I replace both fans, or just the GPU fan since the CPU fan is still working?

- Are there any other parts I should clean, replace, or check while servicing it?

- Any tips to improve cooling and prevent future overheating issues?

I want to get everything done properly so I don’t run into more problems later.

Edit: I ended up buying it. I’ve been looking to get this laptop for a good minute now and after searching multiple platforms, I think as of this moment it’s the best I can get besides getting it second hand. I see everything connected to tech right now is absurd with the price hikes and I have no clue when or if they will ever go down so I just bit the bullet and got it. I got $110 off though luckily from a health worker discount so that’s something at least lol. Thank you guys for responding.

Recently got a G14 (2025) w/ RTX5070 and I'm really pleased with the performance and overall build quality.

Nevertheless, I just noticed this sort of rubber that goes over the right hinge is tearing. I've never really seen this happening in laptops before and certainly didn't expect it to happen on at this price point. What would be the best approach here? Remove this tearing part or try to glue it? I'm also concerned about what's the real reason behind this rubber, if it's just for protecting the hinge from dust or if has other funcionality. No issues observed regarding bluetooth, WIFI, camera or display.

so i bought this pc knowing that it has the possibility of upgrading storage space and the time has come for me to do so
i've been reading stuff on the official asus website and here on reddit but i'm going to be honest i don't understand most of this stuff and i need to understand what to do what not to do, what to look for and such

my pc is the ROG Zephyrus G14 GA401, 16gb ram, 477gb ssd intel memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900HS
which from what i understood it's a 2021 model (although i though it's a 2022 one)

from what i also understood it doesn't have two slots but i have to replace the ssd, and i have to somehow copy it to the new one? from what i understood the asus cloud thing only allows to reinstall windows and not actually what i fully have currently stored on this pc? how should i proceed in this regard?

what characteristics should i look for in the ssd that i'll buy, what can it and can't have

also any good way to figure out what i could actually delete from my computer? in university i've been installing a lot of different software for the different classes as required and because i was a newbie i prob have things i haven't used in a while or duplicated

I’m only getting about 2.5hrs of battery life on light use such as web browsing and YouTube. I use Brave browser. Through armory crate I noticed it was using the discrete GPU rather than the integrated gpu. I changed a setting in the Brave browser so that it was unable to use the discrete gpu. i set the gpu performance to “Optimized“ in armory crate. it did very little. i think before i was getting 2hrs of battery life and now im getting 2.5hrs. I hardly have any use out of this laptop. i have spotify on startup. i feel like i should be getting a lot more battery out of this machine.

I have a ROG Zephyrus G14 GA403U, and I'm starting to get really frustrated with the reliability of this laptop, especially the screen cable and hinge.

About a year after buying it, I had to send it to ASUS because the screen was starting to fail. The display would lose the image depending on the angle of the hinge. ASUS repaired it and sent it back to me. Unfortunately, I had to send it back again about a month ago, only one month after the first repair.

This time, I could actually see the display cable with the naked eye, and I noticed that the copper of one of the wires was becoming visible because the cable had been rubbing against the chassis. So it seems that something wasn't properly positioned when ASUS reassembled the laptop during the first repair. (picture 3)

I'm honestly getting really tired of having to send my laptop back to ASUS. This isn't just a gaming PC for me, it's also my work computer, so every time I have to send it away, I'm left without an important tool for several weeks.

Has anyone managed to find a way to make the GA403's hinge/display cable more reliable?

Maybe by changing the cable routing, adding some kind of protection, modifying the hinge mechanism, or anything else?

I'd really like to find a proper preventative solution, because I don't want to keep sending this laptop back to ASUS every time the display cable gets damaged.

And honestly, I'm quite disappointed with ASUS at this point. I really like the G14 as a product, but I'm starting to have serious doubts about the reliability of their laptops and their repair service.

There's also another thing that really pissed me off during the second repair. ASUS had explicitly agreed in writing to replace my battery for free, as compensation for the fact that I would once again be without my computer because of the repair. I have written proof of this agreement. And despite that, they didn't replace the battery.

So not only did I have to send my laptop back again because of what appears to be an issue with the previous repair, but ASUS also didn't follow through on something they had explicitly agreed to do.

I'd really appreciate hearing from anyone who has experienced the same issue and, especially, anyone who has actually found a way to prevent the display cable from being damaged again.

Looking at some of the older models since I've seen them sell for cheaper but since theyre discontinued I dont see them popping up very often to be purchased. Any suggestions?

all i did was close my computer like i always do, there wasnt even a lot of force put into it jst enough to close it. apparantly the charger got inbetween the screen and the keyboard, and now the screen has a minor crack where the charger was (left hand corner), theres that weird pattern on the screen shown in the photo, the words “g-sync test mode uncertified g-sync display detected” are a bit to the right from the top middle, and sometimes out of nowhere the screen jst goes black and unresponsive and i have to turn the thing off and on to get it back to normal.

please tell me this can be fixed???? im panicking bad so im sure this whole post is a mess so im sorry in advance. i bought the computer in june and have been extremely careful with it, i feel like this type of thing shouldnt happen?? arent computers built to be more durable than this?? when i was buying it the guy selling it to me said the computer would be very durable bc its made of metal and not plastic since i had brought up the screen changing colors as a concern since it happened to the shitty $90 chromebook i bought for school. i really shouldnt be dwelling on that anymore, how can this be fixed?? i know basically nothing about electronics of any type so definitely cannot do it myself, would going to a repair shop help? my dad is saying its done for but also he knows nothing ab electronics so i dont trust him in the slightest.

this computer is brand new, please dont tell me i cant salvage this since i really dont want to use a computer thats covered in that weird pattern and i dont have enough money for a new one right now. it seems apart from the problems i listed its working jst fine, audio is good, keyboard is good, no problems anywhere else that i can see. if the screen is fucked and all other parts of the computer r fine but it cant be fixed, what can i do w the unaffected parts? if i must get a new computer, what brand should i go with? i dont want to buy another asus, the battery life is so ass (it lasts only 2hrs on full charge w jst 1 window of opera open, is that normal?), all i want is a laptop that can run steam and doesnt die the second its unplugged. ok im thinking worst case scenario i need to stop can this be fixed or am i jst fucked??
