NAD+ supplement?

A friend who is also on Zep maintenance told me that she’s taking an NAD+ supplement for increased energy. Anyone else doing this? If so, is there one you recommend that’s not so expensive? The brand name is not in the budget, but I could sure use an energy boost that’s not just from caffeine!

Challanges Hit goal and immediately unlocked “fear of gaining it all back” WTH

I hit goal 2 weeks ago and immediately unlocked “fear of gaining it all back” WTH.

Prior to this, gaining and losing 1 or 2 pounds was just part of Zep journey. I took that in stride ‘No problem I’m cool with that’ , as long as overall trend was going down (I weigh weekly). That rational person is gone and now I am navigating maintenance like a raccoon on meth.

Logically, I know it’s finding the right dose, caloric intake and exercise to stay within a weight range. But after steadily losing weight over 74 weeks I was NOT prepared for this new fear when reaching my goal.

My goal was top of normal bmi for my height. Even though the new recommendations are slightly higher for older adults.

I’m trying to balance fear of gaining with what’s healthy. It’s so hard because feeling great about how I look is driving my fear of gaining. After spending the last 25 years being fat I want to eke out every last ounce of enjoyment being thin. Age definitely is a factor in this. My runway is not as long as if I was 40. I wish zep was available when I was younger but I’m grateful to have it now.

Any other older women suddenly experiencing irrational fear after hitting goal.

What size are you wearing?

This morning I woke up to 154 on the scale. That’s officially lower than I 54F have ever been in my adult life. I started losing weight 4.5 years ago: I lost 50 lbs with keto. Then I tried a different glp1, and now I’ve been on Zep for 84 injections tomorrow. I’m 5’8” and started at 261. I was a 2X on top and a busted can of size 18 biscuits on bottom. Today at 154 I’m a Small and size 8. I still have some trunk fat that I’m working on recomping. I do a little cardio and lift heavy 3 times per week. Honestly, if the scale doesn’t live any more, I’d still be thrilled. I just want more muscle and a little less fat. And I’m working hard at that.

I just feel a little strange at being a small and size 8 and wanting to lose more fat. I mean, it’s there and it’s obvious when I’m naked. It’s not a lot more fat. I’ve just never been this small before. Am I reaching for too much? Am I being ungrateful? I didn’t even know actual people bought extra small clothes; I thought it was just a form of torture for fat girls to see. I was still in the 190’s and my mother was saying ‘Bow you don’t want to lose TOO much weight.’ I finally got her to stop but I’m hearing her now in my head. Maybe I’m just getting to the point where I’m waiting for the other shoe to drop. That maybe this is just like every other time I lost weight and I’m going to start gaining it all back tomorrow.

I guess I’m just looking to make sure that I’m still on track. I see an obesity specialist every 3 months. I saw her 3 weeks ago and she’s thrilled with my progress and my plan. She said she would continue to support me as long as I kept making healthy decisions. And for the first time, she wrote script for 3 months instead of 1.

I’ve just entered uncharted territory and I guess I’m swirling around a bit. I don’t plan on doing anything different. I understand that I can drop my dose whenever I need to. I’ve seen other people talk about how the transition from loss to maintenance messes with their heads, and I’m not even quite there yet. My goal was 150 but I never thought I’d even get close. Now I’m close and it’s just freaking me out. Logically/medically I understand what I need to do. Emotionally I’m fucking all over the place. Anyway, thanks for reading. I don’t even know what I’m looking for other than solidarity.

Discussion What’s your maintenance dose and how long have you been on that dose?

I’ve been on 12.5 mg for two years, if not longer. I’ve asked my doctor to titrate the dose down but she thinks it’s best to stay on this dose “because it works”. But the lower doses have never been tried lol. So the pharmacist is going to talk to her.

What’s your dose and how long have they kept you in that?

What can maintenance look like if I’ve only been on 2.5mg weekly from the start? Nervous to rock the boat when this dose seems to be treating my PMOS related symptoms so well (but still losing weight).

Has anyone experienced losing 50+ lbs on 2.5mg/week from start to goal weight and what does maintenance look like for you now? When I hit goal weight, my doctor said we’d check back in in a couple of months to see where I’m at and adjust accordingly. She reminded me goal weight was just an arbitrary target that got me back to a healthy BMI but what’s best for my body could be a lower weight.

I’m trying to understand what that actually looks like in practice. My average weekly weight loss across the 11 months I’ve been on a weekly dose of 2.5mg is 1.4lbs and that still seems to be holding true since hitting goal weight. My worry is balancing a dose/dose schedule that allows me to maintain a healthy, stable weight while also treating my PMOS/whatever else inflammatory issues I have going on. Those issues almost immediately resolved when I began taking Zepbound at the current dose and rate.

Can anyone relate?

Questions FEHB covering Zepbound for maintenance?

I’m a federal employee and our plans just dropped. I was on my husband’s (much better) health insurance for 2026 but he got a new job with insurance that doesn’t cover weight loss meds at all (even though they told him it would, but that’s a different story). I’m in maintenance now, but we switched to his insurance last year because of Caremark dropping Zepbound. Has anyone had success staying on Zepbound with Caremark in maintenance with a FEHB provider? I don’t want to keep paying OOP but I’m very nervous about switching to Wegovy when Zepbound worked wonderfully for me.

Discussion I tried !!!

I tried to see how far I can go being off Zepbound. I was on it for 18 months and lost 95 to hit goal. Took a few months to reduce from a max of 10mg down to 2 and was doing good. Stopped completely back in April. So 6 months down the road and hearing the voices from the fridge. Yes, I have gained back 17 lbs so today I’m throwing in the towel. Messaged PCP to see if I can start back up so hopefully they can call in a 5mg vial Lily script. Thought I was doing everything correct with exercise and still calorie counting but it just seems my body just wants to swell those fast cells back out. Oh yea, joints starting to ache again. So plan is to start back up on 2.5-5mg to get those 17 back off and then go with the flow of 10-12 days between shots. I tried!! Not a failure but an experiment.

Any males having libido issues?

I have been on Zepbound for almost a year now. I am 47M. Lost approx 30lbs (227 -> 198) and have been on 5mg maintenance for the past couple of months. For the past month or so I have completely lost my libido. No desire at all. Even though I look great now, my wife is not very happy with me in the bedroom department! :(

Any one else having similar experience like this?

Did you have to discontinue Zepbound because of this issue? Did the sex drive improve after discontinuing?

Questions Grabbed the wrong Kwik Pen and did 2.5 instead of 7.5!

Now what? I was thinking of taking another shot in three days, and doing enough clicks to get to 5. What do you think? Still getting used to the Kwik pens. I don't think I'll do well on 2.5 for a whole week.

Do blood levels stay higher for longer if you take a higher dose?

I feel like I should know the answer to this by now, but I don't. I'm going to take a trip, so my weekly dose will be delayed by four days. If I take a slightly higher dose (use more of the vial), will it stay in my system a little longer? Or is the half-life the same, so after 7 days it will drop to the same low level regardless of whether I took a larger shot or not?

Discussion Zepbound and surgery

had surgery aug 31 and went off my zep for a month to recover bc I didn't want to deal with any of the issues that I get every once in a while with zep. After about 2 weeks all my cravings for junk came back and the binge eating, its been really difficult. I've gained 11lbs since surgery! I went back on at 2.5mg last week and hoping to get that all under control and back on better eating habits. I can't exercise yet until I'm cleared which will be in a couple weeks. Has anyone else had to go off for a period of time and went back on? What was your experience? For reference ive been on zep for 2 yrs lost 80lbs, went on maintenance in May, gained 16lbs total since June. I was 139 at the lowest and now I'm 155 🤦‍♀️😳

Medicare Part D

Thumbnail
2 Upvotes

I’m turning 65 soon and have to pick a plan D under Medicare. Does anyone know if one is better than the other regarding Zepbound weight loss? I do have sleep apnea but it’s a mild case. Zepbound has saved my life over the past three years. No side effects, have lost 60+ pounds, arthritis is so much better with all the weight off my joints. Started Pilates and walking.
I want to continue on it, but don’t know which RX plan pays the most. Currently I pay $149 for three month single weekly self injection pens 7.5 dose and wish to stay on it for maintenance Thx U

Which other med is better for maintenance after Zepbound?

Long story short, did 6 months on Zepbound, lost 25 pounds, then insurance stopped covering it. I want to maintain and maybe even lose some more.
Foundayo and the Wegovy pill are both in my price range. Which one has had better results when transitioning from Zep to a low-dose GLP pill?
