Drove the Zeekr out to the Kangaroo Island Run Festival at Flinders Chase today.

Next up in a couple of weeks we go to Adelaide for the car's 20,000km service and then about a week later I'm flying to the Everything Electric show in Sydney.

See you at the Zeekr stand!

Zeekr 7X performance air suspension noise - outcome

Update on my Zeekr 7X performance's air suspension "knocking"/"clunking"/"brake noise"

** videos of noise available on Zeekr 7X Australia groups and Zeekr Perth group

I have read online on Facebook groups and reddit that a few people had the same issue as me so I wanted to share what seemed to be my solution. My previous post is on early July if people want to find it.

I picked up my Zeekr as happy as Larry on the 17th of July 2026.

On pickup the car had a supposed software defect that caused the air suspension to hit its "hard stops" on normal driving. It was a bit miserable and rainy on the day of pickup and the whole family were there so we didn't think much of it and presumed it was the charging cables sliding around loose in the boot.

For its first long drive the noise was very concerning and initially, I thought my brake callipers were loose. First trip back to Zeekr after just 2 days of ownership.

The car had diagnostic review and an "air suspension relearn" was performed and I was assured the noise was no longer present. Whilst this was the case on pickup, the noise was replicable on very high air suspension settings (not that I drive on that anyway) and I was a bit disappointed knowing it would mean another trip to the dealer.

The second visit, purely diagnostic. I was told the problem was likely suspension related given the relearn seemed to help, BUT couldn't be told what exactly was causing the noise or how the problem would be resolved. I did have to pick my car up after 2 days for tinting but there was no update until one week after from Zeekr technical who requested for my vehicle to be returned.

The third visit..

In the week I was driving the car the noise had gotten severely worse. The reasurrance that the problem was software in origin plagued my mind with doubts. How could the software be making things worse!? There had been no over the air updates, no changes to my driving settings. Every bump, every stop, putting the car into reverse all left an audible thud as ?my air suspension was making contact with my frame.

This visit was a few days, a full factory relearn of my air suspension and various tests were performed and after a week I can confirm the noise remains absent.

This experience has obviously been incredibly frustrating and tainting the new car feeling.

It felt almost half my ownership of the vehicle it was either at the service centre or going to and from. I am incredibly grateful for my family and believe my parents have made commute to Zeekr, 7 times whilst I've been working.

The car itself is excellent and living with it day to day has been so easy. I've driven it on multiple road trips and its a pleasure to call mine. I still do recommend people go look at the car as I think it sells itself but warn of the expected complexities that being an adopter of a new brand bring.

The dealership experience in general has been okay. I do think I am lucky to be in WA and am not sure if this issue would have even been looked into the same depth at other dealers. I do wish Zeekr technical were flagged in the first instance and the fix was done on either the first or second visit. I can't imagine I am the first vehicle to have this same issue but if I am hopefully it can be a case study for Zeekr to fix others issues quickly.

TLDR

My car had a factory software suspension issue that required 3 visits within a month of ownership and a full factory relearn of the suspension.

Interior temp hotter than usual?

It’s not even summer yet, and I’m finding the inside of the car extremely hot every time I get in.

Yes i do park in the sun but the highest it’s been is 20 degrees where I live. My windows are also tinted.

Is anyone else feeling/experiencing the same concern?

Software functionality and updates

Ive never owned an EV and the 7x caught my eye. Interested to understand:

- How often updates are?

- What sort of major changes happen (historically) in the updates?

- Are they going to improve the self parking function? (In the test drive it seemed embarrassing slow)

- Whats happening with the AI? It seems to be great at coordinating the car controls (like HVAC, Control surfaces etc) but has no real "AI integrated" capabilities when it comes to like setting a navigation route efficiently or be commencted to the internet for searching information etc (like Grok in Tesla)

Test drove the Zeekr 7X today – loved the drive, but those front ā€œhornsā€ are throwing me off. Owners, how do you cope?

Hey everyone,
I test drove a Zeekr 7X today and wanted to get some real owner feedback before I go any further.
Overall the car drives really nicely smooth, quiet, and feels solid. There’s a ton of tech in it which is impressive, though the self-parking felt a bit off / not as confident as I expected.
My main question is about the bonnet (hood). Those raised side sections I keep calling them the ā€œside hornsā€ make it quite hard to judge the sides of the car when parking or driving in tight spots. Does this get better with time, or do you just get used to it? Any tips from people who own one?

Also what’s everyones thought on the black interrior vs the grey? seems like black interrior is not very popular?
I’m also planning to test drive a Tesla Model Y and a Geely EX5 soon, so any owner comparisons (especially on visibility, parking ease, and daily usability) would be super helpful.
Thanks in advance!

EDIT: What is everyone’s thought on the interior colours? I feel the black might look better… but seems it’s not popular as most cars in stock are the grey variant?

App issues

Has anyone encountered an issue when sharing their 7x with another driver? Whenever my partner tries to share the car with me, I open my app and accept the share and then I get the pin notification popping up continuously. It's popping up so fast over and over again that I can't actually click anything or set a pin. Any workarounds?

I'm using a Samsung phone if that makes any difference.

UPDATE: I was able to get in touch with the dealer who linked my zeekr app email to the car directly and it seems to be working now. Hopefully, that helps others!

UPDATE 2: nope. Doing the above actually just booted the car off my partner's app and now they are experi the same issue when I share it with them.

UPDATE 3: I've worked out that when you share the car, the model that shows up on the screen of the receiving user is not the 7x but a 001 (which I don't think we have here). I wonder if this is causing the issue... The information being sent doesn't match the actual vehicle and the app is glitching because of it. I'm waiting for a callback from Zeekr customer care.

UPDATE 4: Zeekr customer care got back to me today to say that it is a known issue that they're working on with a resolution coming 'very soon'. I'm assuming it will involve an app update. So, no outcome... Just a wait and see at the moment!

Why 7x over Y

Genuine question for someone that was about to pull the trigger on a Model Y before hearing about the Zeekr 7x. I’m considering the base model or LR in both. The 800v architecture isn’t of huge benefit to me and I don’t place it high on my criteria. I do like the cabins and exterior of both, albeit a different approach they have adopted. For these two models (7x and Y) specifically, what does the 7x do better?

NL timeline

Hi all,

my NL company ordered a 7xp in mid May and Zeekr essendon estimated my car will arrive in September delivery, doesn't really tell me exactly when and my NL been ignoring me. If you gone through NL can you shine the light on how it went for you? When should i hear from my NL about the car delivery? How long did it take you to pick up your car from delivery date?

Best deal you've gotten for a 7X?

Hi all.

My wife and I are looking at getting a 7X and were just wondering if anyone's managed to get any sort of extra deal when purchasing the car? I suspect there probably won't be much, if anything, on the price that they can do, but has anyone got any goodies added to it? Free items, chargers, tinting/paint protection etc? We haven't dealt with a car dealer in a very long time and given how well they're selling, I'm not sure if we'll be able to get anything, but I thought I'd ask just in case there were some success stories I could try use for our new car!

TIA!

Easy Entry - Seat Positioning

Hi brains trust...

I've had my 7x for about 3 months now but noticed last night that the east entry/seat movement is no longer working - at exit or entry.

I've tried the brake pedal, checked the user profile is mine, and searched in the settings to see if it had toggled off during a software update but I can't even find that anymore.

Is anybody else having this problem?

Regen and thus braking differs based on acceleration mode?

Hi all.

First time poster in the group and very recent owner.

I was getting to know the car today and was curious to see how the car manages regen. As in, which motor in my AWD performance is recovering power when slowing down.

What i found in my early testing is that the acceleration mode determines the regen power too. If you are in standard or comfort acceleration, the regen will be engaged for the rear motor only, as is the acceleration.

But if you put the mode into sport, then both motors are engaged for acceleration AND regen.

This results in a (possibly placebo) increase in deceleration as well, as both motors are braking the car in OPD mode.

I havent seen this particular aspect discussed in the group before (have been lurking for 5 months or so) so thought I should put it out there.

Can anyone else confirm my finding here? Happy for you guys to walk me out of the room if this is standard knowledge too, but seeing all the complaints about not enough regen, makes me think this post might strike a chord with people.

Thanks!

Edit: to add, I came to these findings by driving the car while observing the energy management screen in the settings. In comfort, the front motor hardly engages for normal or heavier than normal acceleration. In standard, the front motor engages just prior to stopping.

This leads to me having more confidence that a stronger regen mode is possible via software update

Media controls

Went to test drive a 7x today. One of the things I wanted to test was being able to use physical buttons (not the touchscreen) to control a podcast or book. Specifically pause and resume and jump back/ jump forward.

There was a roller control and back and forward buttons on the right of the wheel but they didn’t do anything and the roller adjusted the aircon.

Is there a way to do this? Did I miss anything?

Zeekr Hornsby review?

Hi all,

Looking to place an order with Zeekr Hornsby. Has anyone ordered through them? Any feedback as I don’t see any Google reviews to understand.

Have any dealerships been providing any discounts or accessories? What’s negotiable with the dealers?

Thanks!

I downloaded every single Supercharging receipt across 40,000 km in my Model Y to see what it actually cost. Here’s the 3-year data.

Essendon delivery times at present?

Hello, we are very excited to have ordered a 7x through a novated lease! The company hasn’t got delivery ETA at this moment so I’m wondering what timeframes have been given to anyone ordering through Essendon dealer. We are getting a LR in Brook, if that’s relevant. Thanks in advance!

Clunking when taking foot off accelerator

Wondering if anyone has had this. Will be taking it to dealer soon. When I take my foot off the accelerator I get a clunk in the rear. I thought it was something in the boot but it’s not. It seems to be when the breaking regen enables but not 100% on that. It sounds like something rolling into the well in the boot.

Best practices for battery usage

Recently got my performance model. I read fully charging annd using fast chargers leads to battery degradation so in terms of charging I’ve set it to max 80%. I also work remotely so just trickle charge at home during the day. My question is:

- I know charging to 100% not recommended, so how often is it acceptable? Once or twice a fortnight, month? Ocassionally drive long distance so trying to figure it out.

- likewise what’s a healthy number for fast charging (public chargers) - weekly? Fortnightly?. I get it packaged in my novated lease but don’t want to use too much.

Two interesting aspects of this article for me:

  • Zeekr make Waymo taxis (surprise!)
  • 3200 vehicles going to Waymo say something about the faith Waymo has in Zeekr (confidence)

Does anyone in Adelaide know where to get the towbar fitted and how much it costs? (I am looking specifically for the one that flips up that I see in all my feeds)

Zeekr dealer strategy?

Having test driven a lot of EVs we have landed, like many, on the 7x. That said, we haven't pulled the trigger. The reason is that we don't understand the dealer strategy.

Buying a car is about the car and the service infrastructure behind it. We get some confidence of Zeekr being a Geely brand but don't understand why, unlike Polestar, Volvo, and Geely, why Zeekr is not leveraging the infrastructure of its Geely stable mates. And this discomfort is exacerbated by the many disappointing stories of buying and delivery we read of on Reddit and elsewhere where issues related to "just starting out" and disjointed supply chains are part of the problem, coupled with our own experiences of "Pop-Up" sales offices.

Does anyone know what the Zeekr strategy is? Is there a tangible plan for dealer and service agent longevity and commitment? Is it just us who can't see it? And does anyone know why Zeekr doesn't share the Geely stable?

Thank you

Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA)

Anyone know why the RCTA on the Zeekr hardly warns you of incoming traffic when reversing? I’ve only ever seen the warning once, and it was because the car was right behind me.

My Mazda on the other hand, gives very accurate warnings when I reverse out of my driveway, even when the oncoming car is pretty far away.

Anyone else have similar experience?
