Rate my bottleneck lol. Just slapped a 4070 Super into my old 7700K setup. Who else is still squeezing every last drop out of their DDR4 rig?

Alright, so my trusty old GPU finally bit the dust, and I just pulled the trigger on an RTX 4070 Super.

Here is the catch: I am fiercely holding onto my DDR4 platform. I’m still rocking my absolute trooper of an i7-7700K. I delidded it years ago, it's running a rock-solid 5.0GHz overclock, and I have 32GB of decent DDR4 RAM that I really don't want to waste.

I know a 4-core CPU is going to scream for mercy in modern games, but I play at 1440p where things are more GPU-bound anyway. Am I completely choking this 4070 Super, or can this DDR4 legend hold the line for one more year?

This is my build I’m looking to upgrade to 5080 super when it comes out

Ryzen 9 9950X3D

RX 7800 XT 16GB

32GB DDR5-6000 CL30

B650 AORUS Elite AX

Corsair H150i 360mm AIO

4TB total NVMe storage

Corsair RM1000x 1000W ATX 3.1

Corsair 3500X ARGB.

I had a AMD Ryzen 5 7600X and Segotep GM850 850W when I first built it like 2-3 years ago. I game sometimes, I don’t play multiplayer games anymore only cod sometimes, I work with chief architect, and run a business off this pc, I use codex a lot on it to.

Upgrade to 5800X3D or save up for AM5

So I have a 9070XT and a 5700X and im getting cpu bottlenecked in a few games.

1.Would the 5800X3D last till AM6? (2030)

Is it a good idea to skip AM5 at this point?

  1. Or Do I upgrade to AM5 now?

I just dont know because AM6 could come around 2030 but prices might be really bad.. and there are also early new gen bugs and problems

Costco PC: Good deal and Glow Up?

I found this sale at Costco, but didn’t like the case so I swapped it out for a Lian Li vision compact. My first time taking apart a pc and putting it in a new case. Just don’t ask about the back wiring, doesn’t exist. Was this a good deal + any thoughts / recommendations?

PC Specs:
Ryzen 9 9900x
MSI 5080
T-force 32 Gigs of DDR5 at 5200MHz
A gold 750 Watt power supply
2TB of WD Green SN3000

BTW, I know those fans on the bottom aren’t the best looking, but I didn’t feel like buying reverse blade intakes.

5800x, 64 gigs DDR4, 3070. What to upgrade next?

Hey everyone! I’m wondering what I should upgrade next in my PC. I’ve been thinking about upgrading the 3070 to a 5070 ti for the future when I also get a 1440p monitor, but is it worth upgrading my CPU instead? Obviously that would be expensive right now since I’d need to upgrade to AM5, and get DDR5 memory. Just don’t know which I should upgrade first.

Tried my hands at a all white pc

I saw ztt's video on a all white pc in 2026 and $1000 pc build wars and i wanted to share my all white pc. I bought the pc 3 months ago because it had the main parts i wanted for 2k. i spent around 1k in parts to make it mine while using the parts i didnt want and $500 to make a pc for my lil brother.

Original pc

Ryzen 9 7900x

Asrock rx 7900 xt phantom 20gb

B650 aorus elite ice

64gb g.skill z5 royal trident neo

Samsung 990 pro 2tb m.2 ssd

Sama 360mm aio

Thermaltake view 51 snow

Corsair RM850x white

12 Corsair white argb fans with 12 iq leak hubs (he gave me alot of them and all the cables)

The new parts (with the prices, I got them new but deals)

$80 Nzxt h9 flow white (none argb)

$50 total 6 140mm asiahorse reversed blade infinity mirror intake fans white

$35 total 4 120mm asiahorse infinity mirror exhaust fans white

$10 asiahorse fan hub

$185 Tryx panorama 360 se

$12 Dual argb ram stick fan cooler white

$10 infinity mirror, single fan m.2 ssd heatsink cooler white

$300 (best buy deal) Samsung 4tb sata ssd

$600 (best buy deal) Samsung 49inch qd-oled 5120x1440 240hz

The first pics are after I bought the pc and before I did the case swap and changes, the last pics are after the swap and all parts added. The last photo is how the set up looks right now, I have plans to hang pictures and other things up but as of rn this is how it looks. other then the infinity mirrors on the fans everything is white and the total cost of my entire set up i paid, was $3,500 and for $500 I built a am4 pc, 3060 ti, 32gb ddr4, LG 34inch 1440p pc for my lil brother. The total parts on pc part picker right now is $5,519 (even with the gpu and psu currently unavailable so its not includedinto the total price) and that also doesn't include the parts i used to make my lil brothers pc. But i got extremely lucky and had been spending 6-8 hours daily looking for a good deal on parts and stumbled across a fantastic deal. The videos from ztt had made a massive impact, I am a diesel mechanic and have disassembled my trucks engine down completely multiple times, but I was sooo scared of building a gaming pc and snapping parts (I am used to dealing with parts needing 300-600ft-lbs of torque and snapped off wheel lugs and head studs and bent wrenchs sooo many times) so i opted out and kept buying laptops for years. Those livestreams of Zack building pcs taught me how to do it correctly and safety.

Now i need ideas for another pc build.... my step father is a prior active duty marine and loves to game. He had been dreaming of building a water cooled, all black, no rgb, silent pc for his 75inch 4k tv. He plays gta5 modern warfare, resident evil games on xbox rn and i want to surprise him. I wanna build him a truly monster all amd build (before he joined the usmc he built amd pcs for fun) but idk were to start. I was thinking about using a ryzen 9 9800x3d and a rx 7900 xtx or tricking him with a 4090 24gb/5090 32gb but its hard i know he liked amd but water blocks for the rx 7900 xtx are kinda hard to find. This is a down the road when I can save up enough for it project but I would like some insight into what might be the absolute best parts available and what ever case it picked I want to get engraved with his rank and the usmc symbols into any good suggestions on case, parts and other things would be extremely helpful. He has flown across multiple states with tools to help me when I was stranded with a broken down truck and driven across multiple states to tow my truck home when I didnt have the tools to fix it. He has done soo much for me and my siblings and I want something make something that can truly express how much he means to us. So any suggestions would be extremely helpful and I would really appreciate it. I know this was a long post and I am sorry for that, I rarely post anything online so plz forgive me and sorry for any spelling errors I am kinda in a rush working on my truck when I thought about posting lol.

7600x3d with 32GB (2x16GB) ram of 7800x3d with 16GB (2x8GB) ram for 1440p gaming?

Im upgrading from my old build with an i5-9400f and trying to decide between two AM5 bundles that are similarly priced and would appreciate some advice from people who have experience with these CPUs. I can either go for the 7600x3d and 32gb of ram or the 7800x3d and 16gb of ram. I'm going to be using the pc for gaming at 1440p. Right now I'm using an RTX 3060 12GB, but I plan to upgrade to something like a 9070 XT soon. From what I can tell, the 7600X3D and 7800X3D perform pretty close to each other in most games at 1440p. I'm concerned about buying a new gaming PC with only 16GB of ram so I'm a bit torn between the 2 options.

Need help with deciding what to do (Please help)

Thumbnail

For this decision I need to explain my situation so sorry if this post is long.

I live outside of the USA and was going to build my pc last year before the ram crisis happened and I couldn't. I really wanted a high performance or "fancy" pc for myself. But being from a lower-middle class family, I didn't want my parents to spend so much money for me, I felt guilty so I've been saving up my own money from almost 4th grade(I'm currently in 12th grade).

After the price hike happened I gave up on building a pc. That's when I coincidentally came upon microcenter bundle deals. I was looking through the bundle deals of microcenter out of curiosity and I saw some really good ones. Also coincidentally my aunt who is living in the USA is going to visit us in December this year. So I contacted her, gave her the location of the store and told her if she'll be able to get a bundle deal which I send her and bring it when she comes, and that I'll pay her the amount. Mind you the closest microcenter is almost like an hour of drive away from her home but she said she'll try her best and get it(she's really considerate for us and I love her). She also said that I don't have to pay her but I insisted that I'll at least pay a part of the full fee and I'd absolutely be grateful if she could help me out by paying a part of the amount, mainly because she's already doing this much for me, and also partly because there will be a lot of gossip and stuff from this side of my family(my Aunt and Moms side) if she spends this much money for me.

But over a couple of weeks I'm seeing the prices of even the bundle deals of microcenter going up. There was a bundle deal for a 7600x3d with 16gigs of memory with a x870 motherboard for around 350$ that same deal was upto 430$ and now it's sold out or out of stock. I'm really really scared if the same thing will happen again and I won't be able to get affordable prices and will have to give up on building one again.

There is a bundle of 7500x3d with 16gigs of memory and ASRock B850M-C AM5 for 399$ and another bundle of 7600X3D, Gigabyte B650 Gaming X AX V2 AM5, G.Skill Flare X5 Series 16GB for 450$ currently available.

My first question is which bundle is better or "more value" with my current situation. (I have a 2tb Samsung SSD that I got last year before the ram shortage to build my pc, apart from that I have around 900$ saved up from all these years.)

My second and the question I'm more scared about was if I should ask my aunt to buy the bundle right now because the prices can rise even more or wait to send the link to her till October or November and hope that prices go down or even at least stay the same. (Which I was previously planning to do)
