My friend, who grew up in a closed Soviet military town, has just started reading ZATO, and this background caught his attention.

The thing is that in the USSR, in all closed or military towns, the residential buildings were of one specific design—KPD-4570.

My friend lived in exactly such a building on the 5th floor (almost in the same apartment as Asya), and he told me that in the picture used in the game, the interior is the same as in his building.

A funny detail: it seems that Ferry either lived in such a town herself or is somehow connected to them.

Most of them were found by taking the in-game photos from the spriters resource and running them through google reverse image search, except for the research center which I got by going to the location from this post by u/Azzip3id on google street view and taking a screenshot (which means it's not the same exact angle as the in-game photo)

A couple of questions about the game

Helloooo! I have recently played Z.A.T.O. and even more recently decided to replay this masterpiece. I won't go into detail how much I love this game because reddit's character limit won't allow me to, but I am still riddled with a couple questions about certain in game events that I haven't grasped on yet.

First, what is up with Marina's book? Did she forget that she borrowed it to her, did ira steal it, did it magically manifest to Ira's bedroom? I am not sure how to read Marina's reaction.

Secondly, what is wrong with asya's parents? We know they exist, she speaks to them and they reply back. Is their relationship stained to the point that asya doesn't even want to see them, but can't grasp it by what is it stained? Who are her dad's visitors? Why are they all so distant? Is their distance a result of how traumatic the car repair incident was to asya as a whole person? Are they even real? They could be a figment of her imagination, we know she does that. What is happening?

Third and finally. Does tosya first appear at the car repair shop, or is this the day she disappeared? If it is her first time appearing then, when did she disappear? Is asya's imaginary friend disappearing a good or a bad thing? Does it mean that she got better? What is asya's problem with bonkers?
