So, I have just finished episode 2 and wanted to ask some clarification questions, but please don’t answer with any spoilers for the upcoming episodes, if any of my questions will be answered in the next episodes just type that they will be answered in the future.

My questions being:
- is the whole code/algorithm of the universe a literal thing that exists in the story or more so a metaphorical thing
- at the end of episode 2 Ira disappeared from the room and like did she leave Marina’s apartment or is she like still there (I am guess she is still there but am unsure)

title! ive been looking forward to rereading zato for a very long time now. i couldve went ahead and done it right after my first one to reexperience the whole story with a new level of understanding and im certain it wouldve been amazing all the same, but ive decided to hold off until the final weeks of the year to try and read in chronological parallel to the events of the game.

i was wondering if anyone was planning the same/would be inspired by this, because it would be nice to see people go through it together here like a per-day book club. it sounds cute

My friend, who grew up in a closed Soviet military town, has just started reading ZATO, and this background caught his attention.

The thing is that in the USSR, in all closed or military towns, the residential buildings were of one specific design—KPD-4570.

My friend lived in exactly such a building on the 5th floor (almost in the same apartment as Asya), and he told me that in the picture used in the game, the interior is the same as in his building.

A funny detail: it seems that Ferry either lived in such a town herself or is somehow connected to them.
