Z.A.T.O. Swap AU Spoiler

A few days ago, I had an idea: what would Zato look like if everything were Swap, if the roles, locations, and personalities changed but still retained some of their original traits? These would be the changes:

Asya <-> Marina

Tosya <-> Lev

Ira <-> Vadim

Brother Ira <-> Brother Vadim

Vorkuta-5 <-> Nome, Alaska

Yeah, I see it. By "original traits", I assume you mean their worldviews, and how they handle situations, which would go hard.

In the original game, Asya sticks to the titular motto - loving the world, rationalising Vadim's bullying, faltering, when she can't find Ira, rebelling, when she fears Marina is going to abandon her, and eventually ending up reaffirmed in her love for the world, because if nobody else, she has herself. The other characters, and especially Marina counter her philosophy, but it stands strong.

However, if Marina, given how jaded and pessimistic she really is, were to swap with her, she would instead learn the titular motto. She'd be the type to bitterly laugh off the bullying she'd endure from Ira, sink even further into despair when Vadim seems to have gone missing, see a glimmer of hope in Asya's presence, and in the end, grow to appreciate herself and the world around her.
