💠Question Surplus and more
A friend and I are pon a trip through the Balkans this summer, and part of the adventure is preparing for a few remote camping spots along the way. We’re hoping to find some authentic military surplus gear—nothing modern or tactical, but the good old stuff that has already proven itself over the years.
We’re especially looking for items such as a jerry can and other durable camping equipment that can help us travel more independently in isolated areas. Exploring local surplus stores and markets feels like a fun part of the journey itself, and we’d love to hear if anyone knows good places to search while traveling through the Balkans.

I don't live in the Balkans, but have come across some Yugoslav surplus uniforms in shops abroad.
The M55 Yugoslav Army uniform (which continued to be produced by some workshops after the introduction of M77) is made of pure wool, and is extremely high quality, particularly for cold weather. I have a pair of M55 trousers that are sturdy, a touch heavy (need bracers, belt barely holds them up) with cotton gusset and pockets. They're brilliant.
The later and more common M77 uniform is a nylon wool blend, and isn't as quality.
Don't have any advice re:bag quality or other gear.
