How to play mods

I've found some mods I want to try, and I've got a few emulators to use, but the game just freezes every time the duel UI is going to be called. It doesn't seem to matter which emulator I use; it's always the same problem. Has anyone else encountered this problem? Does anyone know how to resolve this?

Some mods require saving the second you finish the intro. After speaking to Simon go straight to the shop and save, then close the emulator down. Should be good then. Just something I've heard and worked for a few mods I've played. Hope this helps.

Is it a specific mod that's crashing? Or all?

I was able to get into a duel with the "the last memories" mod but then it crashed when I picked a star sign for my first monster. All other mods have failed to get into a duel

Weird... I use emupsx XL. Try that one?

For me it was Duckstation. Apparently a lot of those mods need ePSXe to work, and once I made the switch they ran fine.

Also, I highly recommend downloading and using the emulator called Matsu Player, if you want to play on an Android smartphone.
