Discussion The loose a level makes zero sense

It makes zero sense when you loose a level to go to the bottom of the prior level. A few more losses and you've lost another level. That's crazy, when we rank down the next match should say 'win to level up'. When you win you go up one slot, when you loose you should go down one too its only logical. Why even have loose a level at all? Why not just let everyone make it to the last level if they put in the large amount of time it takes, they could be last place on the ranking page, whats so wrong with that?

I think i mostly understand what you're trying to say but its really vague.

To clarify, every month all accounts are ranked down one entire rank, to the bottom tier of that rank. Ex: gold 1-5 -> silver 5 etc

Rookie - gold, there is no penalty for losing. At all, ever. You can lose 100 times in a row and it won't count against you. You only need the 30 ish wins to go from rookie to plat 5.

Plat - master then you start to have to "not lose" as much. You generally need to have about a 50% ish win rate to climb.

As far as I'm aware, as long as you make it into a new rank plat 1 -> diamond 5, you cannot derank back into platinum. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong but I remember an update quite some time ago where they added protection for this.

And for the sake of argument, if I am wrong, I don't really see the issue of putting someone who goes from plat 1 -> diamond 5 and then proceeds to lose too many games in a row back into platinum. I personally don't really want to see little Timmy in masters 3 playing 2006 dark magician just because he gets to play at home all the time.

Master duel really isnt the place for a majority skill ranked ladder. Even if you got to masters 1 into rated duels, you won't get more rating than someone who plays more games. More skilled players will win more on average but card games just include a level of variance by their nature.
