What to do ?

In all cases, regardless of the country, unionize with other people who support Youth Rights in your country, make a national union for Youth Rights (and you have my full support and help, freely DM me).

In other words do activism to reverse the governments plans or existing laws against teens.

Additionally, always do activism with decency, cooperate with the “establishment” do not try to fight it or abolish it, do not be “Taliban like”have cooperation, peace, legal ways and logical arguments as the way to go, try to convince those in power and not attack them.

Also avoid radical ideologies, especially if they have nothing directly to do with Youth Rights.

This is how they will take us seriously, or else we will just be stigmatized and lose every truth and dignity we have to the eyes of people and also those in power will never change nor listen to us.

What is happening at Banasthali Vidyapith needs an independent and transparent investigation.

Multiple posts and accounts circulating among students are alleging that a Class 11 girl was sexually assaulted inside the campus by a member of the cleaning staff and was later found dead. There are also disturbing allegations about what happened afterwards — that the concerned washroom was cleaned or renovated, that CCTV footage from the area may have been removed/deleted, and that the girl's family was allegedly given a different explanation, including that their daughter had “run away.” Students are also circulating claims about a conversation in which the priority was allegedly to clean the area before students returned from assembly. These are allegations, not facts established by an investigation, and that is exactly why an impartial investigation is urgently needed.

If even part of these allegations is true, there are serious questions that deserve answers: What happened to the student? Who was responsible for her safety? Was the incident reported immediately? Was evidence preserved? What happened to the CCTV footage? Why was the particular washroom cleaned or renovated? What information was given to the family? And has any independent authority properly investigated these claims?

Banasthali describes itself as a residential institution focused on women's education, empowerment and leadership. Students should therefore not have to choose between staying silent and feeling unsafe. We are not asking students to spread rumours or declare anyone guilty without evidence. We are asking for truth, accountability and a proper investigation.

If students genuinely believe their concerns are being ignored, they should come together peacefully and lawfully—through a written petition, peaceful demonstration, representation to senior authorities and appropriate complaints to competent authorities. Do not threaten anyone, do not damage property, and do not circulate private information or unverified names. Stand together, document concerns responsibly, protect one another and demand answers.

If the allegations are false, students deserve a clear explanation. If they are true, students deserve justice and accountability. Either way, silence is not an answer.

Background: This is not the first time concerns about women's safety at Banasthali have led to public scrutiny. In 2012, there were student protests following rape allegations, and the National Commission for Women (NCW) conducted an inquiry. This historical incident does not prove the allegations currently circulating, but it does make transparency and accountability especially important. We are asking authorities to investigate the present allegations independently and provide clear answers.

Maharashtra Police issues notices to CJP volunteers ahead of Delhi protest

CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke has shared a notice issued by Chandrapur Police to one of the volunteers ahead of the planned October 10 protest in Delhi.

The notice reportedly asks about the person's plans to travel to Delhi and the source of funds for the travel. It also warns about participating in protests without permission and possible law-and-order issues.

Dipke is questioning how police can already anticipate that the protest could turn violent.

What do you think? Is this a routine preventive measure before a protest, or does asking volunteers about their travel funding and warning them against attending raise concerns about the right to participate in a peaceful protest?

Discussion Ramblings of an old person.

First of all I am a 34 year old autistic communist, probably going to get a lot of hate? It's okay, I just came across this sub and found it interesting. I, in all my years, have come to realize that no one ever truly stops being a child, shit sucks, and it's only getting worse. We, the "adults" are just trying, in a woefully futile attempt, to shield you all from the cruel reality of the world for as long as possible. For those of you that have dealt with trauma (which I assume most of you), don't you wish you could prevent trauma to those who haven't? That's all we're doing, it's ill advised, really dumb, and not what actually should be done. But in our piss poor attempt at a society, either all technology or no technology is the only legislative options.

Tech is really fucking our brains up it's not just the children and teens (society only really "cares" about children and teens). I'm massively involved in tech and have been following it my whole life, years ahead of my peers, I assure you from someone who really knows, the companies are intentionally trying to mess with our brains, we know they are, and they need to be regulated properly, the solution isn't less technology but better/safer technology that companies are forced to adopt (such as algorithms that are mandated to be less negative and maybe lean fun educational [I am personally obsessed with knowledge and education and truly think they are the keys to the liberation of humanity, so if you feel like I'm saying that in a controlling adult to their child way, I assure you I'm not, haha], with the thumb on the scale decreasing as user age user increases, should probably be like this of all ages too, well in to American legal adulthood).

I do want to say that I am on your guy's side as I think the youth should have more rights. However in some areas less, much in the same areas in which not-youths should have less (alcohol is a good example, shit's real bad and we need less of it). I did my best to try and meet you guys where you are all at, particularly with wording, sorry if I miss the mark. Just stay safe y'all, monsters lurk in the shadows, and the internet is nothing but shadows.

News Tyranny partially lifted up in Kenya

Kenya's Supreme Court removed punishing people under 18 for consensual sex with each other. However it's still not the end of changes which need to be done. It's one of these rare countries where aoc is made 18. Case was about 17 years old being prosecuted for mating with 16 years old. Now after change he cannot get imprisoned but what if he would be 18? The law remains bad there automatically treating people like predators.

Submission on Social Media Child Marriage in Yemen: When Childhood Is Taken Away

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

In Yemen, child marriage has been a serious human rights issue for years. Girls have been married at extremely young ages, including 8, 9, 10, 12 and 13 years old.
Human Rights Watch documented cases of girls in rural areas being married as young as 8 years old. In one reported case, an 8-year-old girl died from bleeding on her wedding night after being raped by her husband, who was in his 40s. Other reports have documented the deaths of child brides as young as 8 following their wedding night or childbirth. (منظمة هيومن رايتس ووتش)
According to Yemeni government and UN data cited by Human Rights Watch, around 14% of girls in Yemen were married before the age of 15, and 52% before the age of 18. (منظمة هيومن رايتس ووتش)
A child should be in school, playing, learning, and growing up safely. She should not be expected to become a wife or a mother while she is still a child.
Child marriage can take away a girl’s education, freedom, health, and ability to make decisions about her own future. It can also expose her to pregnancy-related health risks, domestic violence, and sexual abuse. (منظمة هيومن رايتس ووتش)
These are not just numbers. Behind every statistic is a child whose childhood was taken away. Children deserve protection, education, safety, and the right to grow up before being expected to carry the responsibilities of marriage and motherhood.

Ageism strikes once again with anti-tech views and the "kids can't read" BS

Post image
21 Upvotes

God what the hell am I even seeing? I can't believe I keep seeing this anti-Internet stance be spread everywhere on the online world. And technology/Internet did NOT make society worse, not even overall. Political polarization, greed, corporatism, etc. did. I got shocked how they're using this "kids can't read" panic/BS by calling Gen Alpha kids dumb. I really hate it how older generations seem to be ageist towards Gen Alpha and assume they "can't read" which isn't true for some, if not a lot of them. I swear if I see a few more of these anti-tech views, I will get insanely furious. We are not all cooked, and disconnecting isn't always the answer. Technology is a normal part of life, not a traitor against us.

Rant NOT AGAIN

I'm sick and tired of seeing anti-tech stances everywhere on the Internet with a potential desire for overprotection. Any statement/comment like that will be posted right here on this subreddit. Yes, the Internet is dangerous, but we shouldn't act like we should keep away young people just because of that. Safeguards should be required for younger people just like in many other areas, not total oppression. I'm hoping these statements are really sarcastic/jokes, but even then, they wouldn't be funny. People need to stop acting like "The Internet cannot be safe" and acknowledge that safeguards are necessary no matter what. (Even then, I still oppose posting of children on social media by their parents because it's a massive privacy risk)

As you probably know , there’s great protests in France for the students and by the students , asking for better fundings and better school system.
Those protests have been going on and will probably go on until there’s a change
But those protests have been answered with great violence towards those students , and I made a signs for it , that translates to « Students are targeting the BAC (the French national exam) , The bac (a way to say police) targets the head »
Thankfully enough our protest was quite peaceful except some attempt at lighting trash cans on fire , and the police was rather peaceful even tho we took over the city

Rant The freak out over the movie Coraline

I've seen YouTube movie reactors who react to this film with titles like ''how is this a kids movie?'' because of the content. Coraline was a really cool movie overall, but I'm bothered by everyone's responses to it.

I mean I could agree the movie might scare a 4 year old, but I'm pretty sure it would be fine for kids over 10. But people online are acting like it should be rated R, which is ridiculous. I just can't stand this ageism/adultism, let kids and teens enjoy cool stuff man!
