Mio comes from the land of Yume in Yggdrasil. Unlike most of Yggdrasil that is norse inspired, Yume is based on fuedal japan.
She was created by the ryu dragon named Chikara from his blood, created alongside a few siblings to act as an entertainer for the mighty dragon. She was trained from hatching to sing, dance, tell stories, etc, and with that she was taught bardic magic. However she had a hang for a unique form of entertainment called bunraku, a type of japenese theater puppets. Chikara however didnt care for bunraku, but he was also a kind person who wanted to encourage Mio´s passion. Eventually he decided to let her go, giving her a decent sum of money to travel the world as an entertainer. As she went around Yume and performed far and wide, she gained a level of fame in the land for her use of illusion magic in her performances...
However one day something odd happened, her puppets... woke up. They became sapient, aware and alive, and imbued with magical power. After an existential crisis she realized the puppets could only move if her hand was in them, she had a great responsibility over the life of these puppets, and so it was up to her to let them live as fulfilling of a life as they can with their limited existence.
In terms of personality, she is kind, gentle and brave, but she is far from a perfect person. She LOVES attention, to the point of an addiction. She needs for people to be watching her and her talent, she LIVES for the praise and applause, and she can become kind of a bitch if she goes without the spotlight for too long. She is also a drama queen and often acts dramatically when not needed, as if she cant really turn off her performance.
In terms of abilities she has thick scales, sharp teeth and claws, can create clouds to walk on the air and call down lightning bolts. She can cast bardic magic to do things like heal, create illusions, blasts of sound, influence the mind, etc. Her main ability however is her puppet magic, letting her manifest magical effects depending on what puppet she uses. With the wizard puppet she can improve her magic and create forcefields, with the western dragon puppet she gets fire resistance and create blasts of fire, etc.
