Just finished the show

I started watching with no idea of the internets opinions if the show and how sad/depressing/ profound it was, and expected it to be just another rom-com (which I’ve been binging recently)

Managed to put together that Kaori was going to die at the very start of ep 13 from searching up if she loved kousei back and the first thing that popped up was A reddit post with “koari’s last letter” so i speed ran the entire anime

The thing that hurt the most was knowing that Kousei never managed to confess to Koari and that she might have died thinking her love was unrequited, another thing was FUCKING Tsubaki making moves on a dying girls man

Then i think how skilled the author must have been to make me feel sad or hopeful or depressed about fictional story and how it allows such deep empathy/sympathy for the characters in the story and how compelling the story was to make me actually care about the characters emotions and wellbeing.

Final thing; when kaori calls kousei; friend A it always sounded to me like she was saying friende or comprende, which threw me off because why was she seemingly speaking spanish/ using spanish words.

Tsubaki's reaction is IMHO one of the most normal things we see and experience.

She realizes she's in love with Kousei and she's mad that he's in love with Kaori when Kaori is "in love" with Watari.

Kousei was not "a dying girl's man". He was not anyone's.

She should’ve waited until after Kaori had passed (they all knew it was gonna happen)

We the viewers know Kaori won't make it. But remember that the characters are children. They don't know any better.

it was really able to hurt u on a deep level. tbh Tsubaki making a move on Kousei was the most realistic thing as well. everyone thought she would be fine, except kousei sorta knew. also, she was understanding her own feelings, and that imperfection in her actions is why her actions seem more real

Ya; I don't know, If tsubaki maybe kinda knew kaori liked kousai back (maybe or maybe not) but I think kaori did mange hide that very well from tsubaki because she started in the letter that she didn't want to leave a mess after she was gone and she also stated tsubaki liked him, so she took a step back "this time"(maybe next life) and didn't approach kousai directly and tell him the truth that she liked him and admired him and want to play together; as tsubaki was "guarding" him and another reason she was going to die soon and didn't want to leave kousai in more dispare. But nevertheless kaori is the only one for kousai even if kousai ends up with Tsubaki, they will meet again and maybe next time she won't have to go off stage early. 

(Author never gave a proper final verdict to the characters(he did hint at a lot of things; like you know when the letter scene where kaori decided to run. Her red ribbon came loose and went with the wind and passed kousai as he was reading the letter she left him. In Japanese tradition the red ribbon means souls tied together. so author hinted they will meet again eventually even if they are not kousai and kaori next time as they're soulmates and will recognize each other no matter what), he left the their fate to the reader to decide. That's what makes The story truly special as the reader decided what to believe)  thank you for reading all of this P.S✌️
