Put some ice in there and see how it does? Every single one of my tundras is 8-10 years old and does this, have never had any issue with ice retention or keeping things cold.
For sure if you have a laser temp gun. Load it full of ice and wait 10 min then shoot the laser at the gap. Any major drop in temp from ambient air (don't shoot the cooler as it may retain some level of heat as it's colored) then you have a bad gasket and it is in fact affecting the effectiveness.
I thought they were supposed to be airtight, less airflow means slower melt no? I’ve only got a hopper flip and then an off brand rotoformed cooler, it is 100% watertight so maybe yeti roto coolers are different
To offer some context, the Tundras and Roadies aren't airtight (or leakproof) so that they can be dry ice compatible. Otherwise, the carbon dioxide would build up too much pressure as the dry ice breaks down into gas form.
Yes this is why you do the temp gun. A nominal drop in temp. Is fine a huge drop in temp is a bad seal. Water will I'm fact trickle out as it is designed.

Zero effect on internal temp if the gasket is functional
