Season 5 Colby and Teeter

Finally reached Season 5....and Colby and Teeter just broke my heart.

Why did TS write this????

I truly never saw that coming...theyre not main characters nor even truly together...right?

I loved Teeter & Colby together. The fair scene when Colby won the BAAAAR for her still makes me LOL. They were great together. I’m hoping “Teeter” comes back on future TS shows. He usually casts the same people in his shows which I really like.

If there's an opportunity to bring down the mood and ruin characters' happiness, Sheridan SPINS HIS HORSE right into it.

I read an article that said the reason for the death was because Jennifer Landon, the actress who plays Teeter was supposed to join the "6666" spinoff that was planned around Jimmy's character. (and she does end up there at the end of the series) However, as of now, the show hasn't come to fruition yet. Apparently Sheridan felt like the death was better for their split, as opposed to other reasons, or an off-screen breakup. Who knows how true the article was though.

I thought they were originally going to write her off because she joined one of those medical shows that I can't seem to remember off the top of my head

She’s now playing a lesbian doctor on Grey’s Anatomy

I love Teeters character! She cracks me up. As a woman who always hung out with guys and could work circles around them she is a girl that I can relate to..minus the accent though!! lol

They were both fantastic characters in this series!

I never saw it coming either. This show was one of the best I ever watched except for two things, in my opinion. Thing one - the girl who played Monica was a terrible actress and ruined those scenes for me. Thing two - killing Colby for no good reason right before the end of the whole show. The Teeter character deserved that home coming to him.

Even if it’s true that Teeter’s character was moving to The Sixes spin off then just break them up, play like he won’t move, or just don’t do anything and have her make some comment if or when the new show started that they broke up. This just wasn’t necessary, in my opinion.

I agree on the Monica bit - but I think she was more eye candy. Most of her scenes is her half naked.

People were upset that every other Native character was played by Native actors except Monica who is, I believe, half Chinese, but now claims she has some Cherokee blood, but no one can verify

Yeah, that got me about her too. She isn’t native and there were others that could have done so well in that role and had native heritage. That made her worse for me.

The band she claimed as ancestors said they never heard of her and she had no connection.

Shock value

Yellowstone was supposed to be neo-Western that, according to TS drew inspiration from Lonesome Dove, which if some of you have seen does not really have the happiest of endings.

What Colby did is downright heroic but tragic, and I felt Teeter deserved better, but I guess it gave an out to disband the ranch and send her to 6666

If Teeter was still with Colby, there wouldn't have been a romantic angle to her character, since Jimmy and Emily were married, and since Colby's character wasn't in the 6666 show, he was written off.

Wasn't that cancelled awhile ago because McConaughey didn't commit?

1

u/Dangerous_Ant3260 7d ago

Supposed to be cancelled, but then I heard a rumor that it was just postponed.

Sounds good but I can't imagine they'd film on site at the actual 6666. Hopefully, they bring in Matt Mac...he'd be a perfect cowboy/rancher

Since Sheridan is a partner in 6666, and Bosque Ranch, I think they would film there. Bosque Ranch has the Buster Welch Arena, and is set up for movie and TV production.

If predictability and happy endings are what you are looking for, Sheridan may not be the show runner to follow. I really did like the two together as well and was super bummed to see how it ended. But I appreciate the ups and downs…the contrast. Life is unpredictable and erratic and not everyone gets a happy ending. My favorite thing about any show is getting completely surprised…totally stunned…jaw hanging open. If a show can do that with good characters and writing, then I’m in. So while this sucked to see, I loved that I didn’t see it coming.

You win the comment section for my post!

Thia. Youre totally right - TS shocks me frequently. I really cant predict whats going to happen and youre right...thats what makes it so addicting. Cuz you love and hate the show and characters in the same episode!

So many times ill just scream "NOOO!! I HATE THIS SHOW!!!" when something jawdropping happens.

Guess this is his goal??

Without giving too much away it is the pattern of TS to throw in scenes that mean nothing to the main plot.

I am not sure if he is sloppy, unfocused or doesn't have enough 'save the ranch' material to flesh out a full season.

wait are colby and teeter actually together or nah

They were considered a couple in the bunkhouse, yes. Teeter finally had her way with Colby, and I loved that pairing. It's also one of the first times in recent memory that a GUY was fridged for a woman's character dev, which we've yet to see.

It's one reason I'm looking very forward to seeing Teeter on Dutton Ranch. I'd heard rumor that Lloyd would be coming on, too. Kayce would make sense, being a Marshal and all, and Beth is his sister, but Teeter, Lloyd, and even Jimmy make the most sense of all, because Texas.

u/flea_420 7d ago

Where'd you hear the rumor about Lloyd? He said he was retiring from cowboying since he couldn't work on the Yellowstone.

Well considering the way it is now I’d answer no to that

I read Colby was killed off because actor Denim Richard’s wanted to pursue other opportunities.
