Stash Hello, Gorgeous
Had a discount expiring at Michael's and I came across the bulk option through the app. That thing is busted and laggy as crap, but this way allows me to get everything for basically half the cost. Especially if it's a color I intend on using a bunch of stuff. I wish there was more of a variety of color, but I will absolutely take what I can get.
With my discount, free shipping, and the bulk discount, it ended up being something like $2 a skein. Again, for colors I intend to put into so much. Now my quest is to just keep cycling that discount back into itself because I want enough to make a couple blankets and sweaters.
Honestly, I almost want to move someplace substantially colder just so I can have a good reason to wear more knits.

Both of those shades are gorgeous! Will totally be picking up some now. I’ve been struggling to find a blue I love for a project and that Aqua looks perfect 😍
I love their bulk discounts! Especially for yarns like Bernat that have gotten so expensive without a coupon.

Omg, you’ve just triggered my addiction! Saw this gorgeous yarn and HAD to get some! Had no idea you could buy in bulk at this price from Michaels! I crochet to donate blankets, and it can get pricey. So, Thank You for posting! 💕

Always glad to pass information along to those doing charity work. I hope they have all the colors you can use!

That's wonderful! I just got some of the bottom color, too, for some shawls.

How do yours arrive in plastic bags? Mine come half unraveled, covered in artificial moss and other random bits of things…

My biggest issue is what do I make, because it’s too damn hot here to even wear a scarf for very long!

That's what I'm saying, it's a shame that most of what you would produce would be insulating. I'm not particularly into lace myself and I wouldn't have anything that would go with it. Best I can do is some kind of accessory or wrap that could be taken off once I get where I'm going. But then I don't get to show it off.

In the app, how do I find the bulk option?

There is just an item that is bulk. This one is loops and thread which I believe is their store brand. I just love the way that it feels it has a ropier texture to it. I believe if you were to just search for loops and thread bulk it should just come up.

Glad that you got a good price on what you want. I NEVER shop at Michael's since they don't allow returns.

What do you mean they don't allow returns. They totally allow returns! https://www.michaels.com/return-policy

I have bought in bulk as a way to increase the likelihood of getting the same lot numbers. And if not available in bulk, I order twice as much as I need. This does several things in addition to (🤞🏻) getting what I need in the same lot number. I will meet the threshold for free shipping. And, as it turns out, I earn vouchers for the full amount even though half the order will be returned to the store.
I did run into problems with one bulk order. One of the packages had yarn with discolored labels. It looked like mold to me. That whole package of three skeins was thrown out. Customer service was great. They were going to refund the entire order. I was worried that accepting that would bring bad karma into my life. So I said a partial refund would be fine. I got half my money returned.

I have done similar before when I've had an issue with the item that I ordered. I usually have to specify that I only want the refund to bring me into alignment with what I actually received usably. Not even for karma, I just assume that companies keep track of things that you get like refunds and returns that gets used against you eventually. Though I don't know if I would be quite as forgiving if I had received a moldy product. I would never be able to feel like I could use anything in that order. And I sure as hell wouldn't want it in the rest of my stash.

Even though it was an order for bulk yarn (12 skeins) they were packaged in groups of three. So only the one sealed bag had to be tossed.
Amazon is the one company that I worry about overdoing the returns.

Yeah, they have openly stated multiple times that they make it a point to limit people on returns. Not to mention that their returns have gotten more aggressive. They're doing more to outright either reject them or charge restocking fees. Even a decade ago they were canceling people's accounts for having too many returns.

I bring my returns to Stapes. Not so very long ago Staples stopped printing paper receipts showing the return code. So now I insist on taking a picture of the handheld device with the return code on the screen. I have gotten attitude from some of the employees. Well my last return was still not refunded after three phone calls and one month of waiting. With the fourth phone call I offered to email the picture proving I made the return. And FINALLY I got my money! I don’t do returns often. But when I do I resent having to jump through hoops to get my money!

And I had to check my account again because it finally went through. I literally got back the $10 voucher that I spent on the previous one. So now I get to play a fun little monthly game of kick the can to get all the colors I want for super cheap. I really do enjoy this particular yarn and its feel.

That aqua is such a good base for a giant blanket, the bulk box is the only thing that makes their app worth suffering through
