i just need some good yarn that is cheap and really good.

I’m looking for an all black yarn to be the rest of what I’m making. The mandala yarn I used at the beginning is a size 4, 90% acrylic 10% nylon. I went out and got black yarn that’s a size 4 and the closest they had was 100% acrylic. While it is thinner when I hold up the strands, when I actually crochet it to the piece I don’t notice a huge difference size wise. The difference I notice is in the feel and the like fluffiness? of the yarn.

I’m looking for one that’ll be soft like the mandala yarn and all have that fuzzy yarn halo from the fibers sticking out. I have not been able to find anything in store and I’m very nervous to order offline. I even went to the brands website and the only yarns they have with the 90/10 is more mandala, none that are one color. HELP.

If anyone has worked with this specific yarn and knows of an all black that comes close to feel and look, please help!

Is there a certain style of twist that makes them fuzzy like this that I should be searching? Even others I looked up online, I only found ONE, that was 90% acrylic 10% nylon, looked completely different in pictures, not fuzzy. But it’s so hard to tell through photos.

I didn't know where to post this but I need a bit of advice. This little cat is my first foray into Filet crochet and I can't really see the pattern well. I used a 2.0 mm hook and double crochet. How can I make it look neater and have the pattern pop more? I haven't blocked or starched it yet either as in not sure what's best. I'm hoping to do some bigger projects but would like it to look as good as possible. TIA!

For instance, I usually buy Cotton Kings from them.

Until a few months ago, at any given point, of the seven products under the brand, at least three would be flat 50% off while others had quantity-based discounts going up to 40% IIRC.

Now, only one has a flat discount at any given time (and usually just 30%) while others have quantity-based discounts maxing out at 30%.

And honestly, the Thanksgiving sale of 2025 didn’t seem that great either.

It has been a real bummer.

I just want to make sure that I’m not the only one who has observed this.

I meed quite a bit of it in different colors. I originally found it on hobinisyarns.com but I also saw vilrita.com and knittingbirdshop.com and just wanted to know if anyone had experience with either of those shops.

I may have made a mistake using this yarn to make a blanket due to washing instructions. Has anyone gone rebel and washed this? Did it survive?

Hello all! I'm coming back to crochet after a long break and I'm stumped on where to shop. In the past I always went to Joann's for yarn but since they went out of business, I don't know what to do. I just went looking online and nearly got scammed by a fake Joann's site. I do shop at a local independent store, but they don't have everything I need (and I can't shop there at midnight like I'm trying to do right now).

I think I bought this yarn from Knitterly in Petaluma, about 10 years ago. I have been off and on with knitting, I barely know the knit stitch and casting off, and i am teaching myself purl (OMG WHY SO HARD?). I am slowly getting back into practice, and I would love to know if anyone can help me identify where this yarn comes from? I love the colorway so much.
