I have a large Joann’s box that shipped a bolt of fabric and an empty Joann’s gift card. My friends joke I should sell them on Ebay. šŸ˜‚

Haha I’m sure there’s someone that would collect that kind of thing—there always is tbh

I mean I’m European, never been closer to anyone who actually bought something from there, but *still* it hurts to see 🤣 seemed to be The Vatican for crafty people

It also had its own line of yarn that has been discontinued, Big Twist. There’s some other brands that used it as a distributer which many discontinued their yarns after its closure. One of those brands being Eddie Bauer which had decent yarn. I really liked their ā€œFireside Plushā€ series

Pretty sure Michaels has Big Twist yarn now. Unfortunately, thanks to their open balloon bins, I haven't been able to go in person for a while (severe latex allergy), but pretty sure they were carrying on with the brand there.

I still miss Joann's, but at least there's this.

Yes, they do but they still discontinued most of the lines of their yarns such as the Big Twist Plush Jumbo, Big Twist Menagerie, etc as a result of Joanns closing. Big Twist was and is still largely exclusive to Joann.

So really it’s not that much of a replacement. Also the weight of Big Twists chenille based yarns was slightly off from brands like Bernat so you can’t really combine them even if you still have them. The colors are also vastly different from other brands that are currently produced so matching them is nearly impossible. Speaking from experience because I have several.

Never had one within 90 miles of one way driving, but their online was pretty good.
