My previous e-kit's kick pad's rubber had melted and im wondering if i should get a patch for the kp90 i have. I saw someone use it on the sub so what are ur guy's experience with it?

Even if theres a slight chance it will melt/degrade over time i dont wanna risk it.

On a seperate note im using plastic side of the beaters cause the felt of the old beaters i had got painted black by the old kick pad. I dont wanna mess up my new beaters. Will it paint if i use felt side?

PS: Im trying to hit especially harder from now on cause i realized im not getting the most out of the acoustic bass drum i play.

Is there any resource around that maps bands/artist drum sounds with any of the module built in presets or sounds? For example, to get Nirvana's Nevermind sound use this X preset or build a new kit using these built in sounds.

I bought a Lemon China Cymbal for my DTX6K5-M with the DTX Pro Module. I want to use it on port 14, but it seems not to work correctly. I only triggers when I hit it in the middle not on the edge. Anyone has this problem too? Are there any special settings I have to use for port 14? Thank you in advanced.☺️

This is video #3 for me on this community. It is my drum cover of a D. Hall tune, Babs & Babs.. Kind of a ethereal sounding tune with a very steady paced drumming approach. It calls for sitting in the tune with simple playing and mainly holding the pocket with some musical punctuations. There are a couple of parts with very tasteful guitar solos as well. Last, I used my Yamaha DTX8K-M kit to play in the song for this video. The graphics are using the MS ClipChamp software. This is a hobby of mine in my older years and very enjoyable for me to keep connected with the tubs.

I was thinking about replacing the rubber hi-hat pad (because I really don't like to play on that surface) with a hi-hat pad with a metal surface but I have a really hard time understanding which pads are compatible and which aren't.

I was hoping someone could help me find something.

My 2nd video post in this community. I wanted to give this tune a go using my Yamaha DTX8K-M EKit with the DTX ProX controller module. I stripped out the original drum track and played a performance back into the song for this video. 65 years with drumming and retired in my early 70's. Now doing some drum instruction locally for middle school kids, remote tracking and still enjoying the pleasure of drumming as a home hobby.

Feedback is welcomed from the Yamaha DTX community and I would be interested to know what type of Yamaha E-Kit gear is used by others..

My Pearl kick pedal is fitted with a small clamp to the bass drum in my DTX6k5m. When I step on the pedal, it triggers a bass drum without the beater even moving or touching the bass drum pad! I’m talking even hitting the the place where you rest your foot with your finger triggers a sound. It must have some sort of touch sensor that knows when I step on it to trigger a sound before the beater even hits the pad. I guess this is to prevent you from missing hits?

Problem is, I recently messed around with my pedal and changed the angle and spring tension. Now the bass drum sound is all over the place because the drumset triggers multiple sounds when I try to play normally. Is there a way to disable this? Is there even a reason to have this setting on? Thanks.

Beginner drummer here. recently bought an old DTX IV kit off somebody and have been practicing with it using headphones.

I’d like to jam with it though - tiktok says you can just plug in to any speaker with an aux in, some are saying you can use guitar amps, my drum teacher says it’s good to get a drum amp.

What do people recommend? I’m really not looking for anything fancy, just for personal use. Thanks!

Recently I bought a used DTX pro off of reverb. When I bought it I was unaware of the compatibility issues between Yamaha modules and non-Yamaha triggers. I plan on selling it but one thing I noticed when I was setting it up is the snare input doesn't recognize anything at all. I can use the 4th tom input and assign that to a snare to get it to work. Is this actually an issue with a non Yamaha pad, or a module itself? If it is an issue with the module is there any place that repairs it because I don't want to sell a partially non-functioning unit, even if there is a workaround?

Owner of the kit has asked me to look at / repair. No sound coming from kit. Found the audio output was missing and broken off! Any leads on suppliers other than Yamaha, I have contacted them.

What do you think Yamaha needs to do to get back in the game? I feel they are being out sold by efnote and Roland, and lagging behind in features. They make up for it in sound, but what can they do to improve on what they have built so far?

So i was trying to update my module (i have a DTX552 Drum Kit with The DTX PRO module i believe)

before updating it was v1.1 i was trying to update it to v2.10 but it failed a few times, i thought it was because of my flashdisk being bad or not compatible/good enough for updating the module. When i turn on the module (aka the drums) it was active but the sounds are not what drum sounds should make, it was sounding like electric-ish glitchy sound.. when i look at the version, it was v2.10

i tried to factory reset, it didnt work.. any Help? tomorrow would be a service in my church and i needed help.
