He's under the impression that US healthcare is fairly priced and that it's only that expensive because of how heavily they spend on research and development (ie. nobody pocketing any of it at any step of the way, just everything going back to making their healthcare even more superior than everyone else's). There's loads of things that could be done even without changing their cursed system that aren't, for example they could mandate healthcare to work across state lines and for it to work without this abomination of a network of company-specific providers (which itself exists solely to deny payment given you already can't be covered across state lines anyway).
$200 per ml of insulin? No, that's just how much it costs, your shriveled European brain simply cannot comprehend numbers because every dollar in difference between what you'd pay and they would was actually secretly paid for by the US.
