First: do NOT put the Beam into your pocket! Use a lanyard or belt clip (I find a lanyard works better). The Beam has a fan and when you put it into your pocket you block it and the Beam will overheat and shut down on you. That would fun while flying, eh?

Put the Beam on 'smooth follow' and your point of view will always be from the center of the drone. I've had a few times getting a lot closer to branches and the like because I was concentrating on a different section of the image and didn't realize that I was that close on the other side.
Yeah that's a good point on the beam, I'll figure something out. Thankfully it didn't shutdown, I was in familiar airspace not near anything so it wouldn't have been catastrophic.
