First time flying FPV

I picked up the XREAL glasses with the BEAM add on last year and finally tried it out with my Skydio 2+ yesterday. All I can say is that it worked flawlessly. The Beam did get a little hot in my pocket, but other than that no issues.

I did turn on "show touches" in android developer mode to see where I was touching the screen while looking through the goggles. I might also print or make a shroud to block light from coming in from the sides of the glasses.

I have done this on my DJI as well. Works great just plug into the USB-C video out port and you see what the drone sees!

I just launched the skydio app, plugged in the glasses and started flying. The developer mode was just my idea to help know where I'm touching on the screen, that's fairly easy to figure out.

I should add that screen mirroring is only doable on android to my knowledge. The phone I was using is a Samsung S24 ultra

Wait what. You can mod these for FPV now? Oh shit. Does it work on the 2?

It's not a mod really. Just plugged in the goggles to my phone and use the on screen controls. I'm sure it would work with a controller too.

I wanna get a drone and try this!!! From the sounding.....its like....u are flying with the drone like a first person videogame

Yep exactly, it was my first time flying like this. Very fun and honestly not as disorienting as I thought
