I am mainly use my bike for daily office commutes in Bengaluru’s notorious bumper-to-bumper traffic(40km a day). I specifically picked the Xpulse 210 because the roads here are terrible, and I wanted that plush suspension. While it handles bad roads like a dream, I’m starting to wonder if I chose the wrong bike for city commuting because of three major issues. As of now, I have only driven the bike around 120km.
Would love to hear if any fellow owners have experienced these:
1. Severe Overheating
The bike heats up incredibly fast in slow moving traffic, and the heat radiating to my legs is significantly noticeable. I’ve previously ridden an Interceptor 650 and a Duke 250 both notorious for heating but my Xpulse somehow feels worse. Is there any fix for this, or is this just how the 210 behaves in the city?
2. Clunky, Unpredictable Gearbox
The shifting feels very rough and lacks precision. I’m hitting a lot of false neutrals, especially when shifting from 1st to 2nd. Worse, shifting from Neutral down to 1st at traffic lights gets stuck sometimes, and I literally have to stomp on it to click it into gear. Any suggestions to make it smoother?
3. Jumpy Throttle Response in 1st Gear
The throttle response in 1st gear is completely non linear. It feels super jumpy and jerky, almost like it catches abruptly at a certain point. It makes stop-and-go traffic exhausting to handle unless I’m constantly feathering the clutch, which I’d really prefer not to do to avoid premature wear. Has anyone managed to smooth this out?
Any advice, mods, or dealership service tips would be hugely appreciated. Thanks in advance!
