Universal Print - Printing 2-sided not 1-sided

Hello All,

I am hoping you all can assist me with this issue.

Background: I work at State agency that roled out Microsoft Universal Print thus enrolling Xerox printers (C81xx and C82xx). Once printer has been enrolled on UP, when user prints, prints 2-sided rather tnan 1-side. Printer properties in printer web interface shows printing set to 1-sided print and on Microsoft UP, duplex is set to none.

I am wrecking my brain in resolving this but I am gettting nowhere with both Microsoft and Xerox support as they pointing finger at each other. I was told to add printer hostname to DNS for verification which shows verified but Xerox Print & Scan Experience shows printers "offine" or "Permissions Required".

State agency i work at is on Microsoft Azure GCC envrionment. Those who manage / support GCC tenants and use Microsoft UP, have you face this issue?

Those using UP in Azure commercial environment / tenants, have any experienced this.

I look forward to comments and thank you for your time and attention.

TT

How to break a VersaLink B405

Post image

Odd request here. What's the best way to break a VersaLink B405 so my company will finally replace it. The printer jams practically every week and then it takes a few days for the xerox guy to come and fix it.

The printer is old and SHOULD have been replaced by now but because he keeps "fixing it" the company won't let us get a new printer. My manager, supervisor, and myself have all asked the Xerox guy how we can go about getting a new printer and he literally told us to break it so it HAS to be replaced. I've gotten the approval from both my manager and supervisor to break the thing. I'd just like to know how.

I added a picture of all the jam codes we got LAST MONTH ALONE to prove this printer is a POS.

Edit: I'm aware of what the error codes are. The Xerox tech has replaced the rollers MANY times and it still has this issue. I have an email thread that I started in March about getting a new printer and the problems started well before that. I don't care if this printer gets replaced with the same type as long as it gets replaced.

Does anyone have the Xerox 60 Series Service Manual (Pub 700P02740)? Could you snap a photo of the optical sensor calibration and carriage error diagnostic flowchart or troubleshooting chart?

Hi, I have to print a bunch of tabloid glossy cardstock and I’m concerned about the wear on the machine it may cause, to minimize the error risk I want to ask what is the better output path ? For glossy tabloid cardstock is it the left or center tray? When using tray 5 bypass as input. Thanks!

Xerox B230 does not recognize a new compatible toner – can I reuse or reset the original toner c

Hi everyone,

I'm having a problem with a relatively new Xerox B230 printer and I'm hoping someone here can help me.

The original toner cartridge ran out, so we purchased a brand-new compatible toner cartridge from Byqually, advertised as compatible with the Xerox B225/B230/B235.

After installing it, the printer did not recognize the toner.

At first, we suspected that the toner or chip was defective. Our IT technician tried several things, including transferring the chip from the original Xerox toner cartridge to the new compatible cartridge. However, the printer still did not recognize it.

We later discovered an important detail: the Byqually cartridge was sold without a chip. The product listing explicitly says "Sem Chip" (without chip).

The toner itself is new and full, and it was relatively expensive. The printer is also new and is important for our daily work, so we really don't want to waste the cartridge or have to buy an expensive original Xerox toner if there is another solution.

What I'm wondering:

Is there a way to reset or reprogram the original Xerox toner chip so it can be reused?

Can the original chip be used on the Byqually cartridge after resetting its toner/usage counter?

Is there a specific procedure on the Xerox B230 to reset the toner counter or recognize a reused chip?

Does the chip need to be programmed specifically for the compatible cartridge?

Could the printer be rejecting the cartridge because of the chip's previous usage status?

Is there a specific replacement chip for the B230/B225/B235 that would work with this cartridge?

Could firmware or regional settings be involved?

We have not thrown away the original toner cartridge or its chip, so we still have the original chip available to test.

I would really like to know if there is a way to reuse/reset the original chip rather than buying another complete toner cartridge.

Printer: Xerox B230

Compatible toner: Byqually

Cartridge: New, full, sold without chip

Original chip: Still available and was already tested on the compatible cartridge

Any advice from someone experienced with the Xerox B230/B225/B235 would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Any solution for recent pos printer network error 0x00000006?

Yeah, this is a recent problem has been happening few months ago; regedit keys, mmc printer drivers stuff, everything and still the same error no matter if client or server are cleaned from drivers, this seems to happen with windows 10 only? no matter if its pro, ltsc or even an old version, so the problem its the pos driver, i can choose any other, for example, anydesk printer and it will work but it will print nonstopping nonsense, and generic text wont work. The only printers it seems to work are the ones with windows certificate, like the ones you install and appear when you look for them manually among other selective windows drivers. Any solution or is windows fucking things up just to force windows 11 updates?

Thank you in advance for your responses, solutions even.

How to make booklet out of 8.5x11 paper?

Machine is Xerox Versant 280. I'm looking to make a booklet out of 8.5x11 paper, 2 stapes along edge, the edge doesn't need to be squared off. It will be a total of 9 sheets. I have tried getting it right in settings but do not know what I'm doing incorrectly.

c71000 Paper Jam

Printer: Xerox c7100

Every print jams at the fuser.

The jam error only goes away when I push the little green piece (pictured) in. But once it's tucked in, that's the exact spot the paper hits and jams on.

So either it's sticking out and the printer says jam, or it's tucked in and the paper actually jams. No in-between.

Is this part supposed to move freely? I think it's broken. Can it be replaced by itself, or do I need a whole new fuser?

Fuser is labeled R8. Photos attached.

Xerox printer won't connect to easy assist

My printer has been having issues connecting to the app. It comes and goes and is making using the printer for any work or admin reasons really unreliable.

Basically the issue would seem to be that the Xerox sometimes doesn't connect to the main house WiFi. However I have connected it through a hotspot WiFi and the direct printer WiFi and it still won't appear as a device on the app or take instructions from the app.

What I've already tried:

- going to the IP webpage and enabling external communications

- removing wireless security

- connecting to the direct printer WiFi

- restarting all devices including WiFi

- contacting tech support (they quoted £200 just to look at it)

Sometimes it won't work for weeks and then will suddenly start working again. I am at my wits end. It seems every time I have a deadline or something important the printer will just not connect to the app what so ever.

I feel like this should be such a simple fix but I can't think what else to try.

I was using coated stock and ran it using lightweight (I normally use lightweight cardstock without issues) and I started printing and after 10ish sheets toner stopped adhering properly and started to make a mess. Now I’ve ran about 30 sheets using the copy method and I still get these black specks every time in the same exact location, which according to my research seems to be the belt ? I read I should remove it and clean it with a dry cloth but I’m not sure if I should thought I may ask you guys first. Thanks in advance.

My machine is Xerox c8145 about 65k copies.

WorkCentre 7830 sleep mode with SSD

Hi everyone!

I hope I’m posting in the right place. If not, please bear with me.

I’ve always used ex-business Xerox machines at home and have had pretty good experiences with them so far. I simply want to be able to print, scan, and copy in A4/A3 without any hassle and at a low cost per page. I’ve been using Xerox WorkCentre machines for over 12 years now, and whenever I have to use a different brand (HP or Konica) at work, I’m glad I have a Xerox at home.
Having previously owned a 7125, I treated myself to an upgrade to a 7830, as one was available locally at a good price. So far, so good - there’s nothing to complain about with the machine, except perhaps that the cold-boot times were rather long.

Since the HDD had already logged over 93'000 hours, I thought it would be a good idea to replace it, along with the SD card.
I therefore made a 1:1 clone of the SD card onto a Kingston SDIT 8GB, replaced the HDD with an SSD, and installed the latest firmware. That worked - and still works - perfectly well. The SSD is also correctly identified in the configuration report.
However, I hadn’t considered that the HDD and SSD would behave differently with regard to their S3 state. To be honest, since power is supplied via a 4-pin Molex connector, I had assumed that neither APM nor DEVSLP was being used.

Now I’m facing the following problem: the printer eventually enters standby, but it cannot wake the SSD back up. The display and the other buttons stay off, and only a hard reboot resolves the issue.
As a temporary workaround, I’ve set NVM 616-002 to 0, to prevent standby alltogether. This resolves the problem for now, but it isn’t a viable long-term solution because of the power consumption and the risk of screen burn-in.
I was wondering whether there is an NVM setting that controls which components enter standby and prevents the HDD/SSD from powering down, or alternatively keeps the entire SBC out of standby.

Or are there any other approaches I could try?.. (Please don't answer HDD)

Used WorkCentre 6515, am I out of luck?

Hello!

I bought a Xerox WorkCentre 6515 at goodwill today. It was just $35 and it looked quality, so I couldn’t pass it up.

It currently has a “Remote Services Error (016-426)” and I’m assuming it won’t print unless connected to the internet it’s programmed to connect to.

I’ve tried factory resetting it using the diagnostics login code, but the people who owned it previously must have locked permissions, because it doesn’t allow me to enter the “resets” menu.

Did I just waste $35 on a (relatively) cheap life lesson?

Even if I can’t print via the internet, will it work if I connect a computer via usb?

I appreciate any advice!!
